I wouldn't worry. My first name is the title and character in a famous book where she goes bat-sh!t crazy, and I think someone only pointed that out to me once in my life.

Hmmmm, if it's either of first two characters that popped into my mind, I don't think I'd worry about it. I didn't hear about either of those characters until college, and then it was only in an advanced Classical Studies class (both are older, Roman stories incorporated/retold by Shakespeare).

I wouldn't worry about it. Our first and middle names are both musicians/musical groups, which was totally unintentional, but when you finally find a name you love you have to take the good with the bad.

@oliviaoblivia: I know what name you're talking about too, I wouldn't worry about it -- they're two pretty obscure references and it's a lovely name!

If it is what I think it is, it is a such a beautiful name. And so many good nickname options. NO ONE will think of Shakespeare when they hear this name, unless they are a literary professor or something. It is lovely!!!!

Gorgeous name! I wouldn't worry about that!

My parents named me for a literary character who isn't exactly the greatest role model, but they loved the name and I sort of love that it had a meaning (from my dad's fave book), even though the character herself wasn't ideal. I say go for it! (PS - pretty sure I know the name you're thinking of also, and I think it's a great option and also agree with others that the Shakespeare connection may not even occur to the general public).
