Our daycare allows you to enroll in one of two ways: by paying $100 to go on a first-come, first-served wait list, or by paying two weeks of tuition to reserve a date.

The problem is, I don't know what date to choose. I'm due Feb 3, and if I give birth on Feb 3, I get 12 weeks of maternity leave and am back to work on May 3. If I go sooner, I need daycare sooner. Later, daycare later.

The daycare is fairly rigid on your chosen start date. If you've chosen a start date and cannot start on that date, you still owe money. That, I'm not too concerned about. It's, what if we choose May 3 and I go sooner?

We could also just do the wait list and reserve the date when I give birth, but I'm scared that if we do that, other people will have reserved their dates between now and then and we won't be able to get in. It's a fairly complex setup they have that would (I believe) allow wait list people to get bumped by those willing to pay their tuition and reserve a date.

So what should we do?
