DS is 10 days old and we are having huge issues with leaks, like almost every diaper leaks. We've used Huggies and pampers and tried both newborn and size one but nothing helps. It seems like we can't get the fit right around the legs, he's built like a "V" very broad in the shoulders but skinny through the waist and legs. We will eventually be using CDs but until his output slows down a bit we are using disposables. Anyone have any suggestions for brands or tips to help with fit?

We use the pampers, buggies are way too big. And we also pull them way up high, her legs are so tiny!

We used honest co but had tons of diaper leaks until she got a little bigger! Also tried pampers swaddlers and 7th generation but none fit better

Huggies makes a "just born" size that is smaller than newborn. The label says JB or 0, and they are sold only in pretty small packages (bags, not big crates like larger diapers). Per diaper they cost more than other sizes but were worth it to us not to have leaks for the first few weeks with teeny babies.

How big is your little guy? My son was 4 lb 15 oz when born and we started him out in NB pampers swaddlers at the hospital but ended up moving him down to preemies before we left the hospital. He was just so skinny and long! We kept him in preemies for over a month, maybe 6 weeks? He was maybe 6-7 lbs or so by the time we moved him up (he was a slow gainer). Even then he could have stayed in the preemies longer, but we were anxious to get him into the same size as his twin sister. We tried other brands and they gapped so badly around his skinny legs. So maybe try pampers swaddlers preemies on him? Even if he's bigger than the weight range suggested, they might be the best for his skinny little legs. Especially since the newborn days they are being changed so often, so you won't necessarily need the diaper to hold a ton?

Target! Someone recommended them to me on here last year. My LO has super skinny legs- a 9 month waist and 4 T legs! Target brand diapers have been the best.

@twodoghouse: he's actually pretty big, he was 9 lbs 1 oz at birth, down to 8 lbs 9 oz now, but he is 21.5 inches long. I might try the smaller size tho just to see if they would work.

We're using pampers newborn with good success for our tiny legged guy. We have to pull it way up and then fold it down over the umbilical stump. Then we cross the tabs over each other to get it tight enough. It was working on much more premie kids in the NICU... But I swear those nurses are pros.

We actually had the least leaks with target brand. But pulling the diaper up high enough was also sort of a learning curve. We would sort of start it in the middle of her back and then fold it through her legs to get it up/tight. Also you probably already know this, but making sure the ruffles are pulled out ALWAYS. Every time we forgot we had blowouts or leaks.
