it's just an antihistamine and vitamin B6. it's the first line drug against morning sickness in Canada and the UK. Zofran is for more serious morning sickness. It is very safe. It can be very effective.

This must be a new combination of old drugs -- I actually don't recognize this brand name (and I'm a pharmacist whoops). It's a B vitamin and an older antihistamine so it looks like it should be pretty mild side effect wise. I think drowsiness would be the biggest concern (just what everyone needs in the first trimester!). Hope you're feeling better soon!

yeah i've been taking unisom and b6 at night but it's just not always working for me. i don't even care about being tired, I can manage that I'm worried about riding a bus on Friday, i think that'll make me really sick, since I can't handle it when DH drives

It made me really drowsy. It solved the nausea and insomnia that were killing my productivity but made me so cloudy I hate taking it.

@oliviaoblivia: I can't say I'm very productive today anyways

I got a prescription, but the extreme drowsiness made me feel worse than the nausea did, so I didn't take it more than the one time.

if unisom and b6 doesn't work, it probably won't work very well, unfortunately. It's a very mild drug, and I didn't find it terribly effective.

@blackbird: I've been on it for a few weeks now. the first few days I was more tired but after that i'm back to normal. It helps by taking the edge off. I'm not puking as much but still get pretty nauseous sometimes and occasionally throw up. The key is to keep taking consistantly. If i'm late on a dose or miss it I definitely pay for it.

I take the unison and b6 combo and can only take it at night. The good news is it usually buys me a few hours of feeling good in the morning so I get some productive time. Some people get used to the medication and the drowsiness goes away but that hadn't happened for me. Diclegis is supposed to be time released as opposed to hitting your system all at once like the b6 and unison.
I really wanted to try that but insurance wouldn't cover it for me. My plan was to try taking it around 4 pm and then to set an alarm and take it around midnight or whenever I could take the next dose in hopes of getting some time where I felt OK and not super tired or cloudy.
I will say, I never threw up on b6 and unisom but it didn't take the nausea away 100%. I didn't want to take zofran though so it gave me enough of a reprieve to be able to put off zofran for quite awhile.

(Reposting here for convenience)
My nausea was terrible. When none of the usual remedies were helping, I started taking b6 and unisom plus wearing seabands. It helped a bit, but wasn't enough to make me functional again. A few days later, I got the diclegis prescription (chose it over zofran because it is category A). It's the same ingredients as b6 and unisom but in an extended release format.
It is pricy, but their website has a coupon that makes it $30. After about 5 days on the max dose, I finally became rather functional again. Around 12 weeks, I was able to reduce to a smaller dose.
I hear good things about zofran (minus the constipation issue) but wanted to try the other first since diclegis is cat A and zofran isn't.
I think the extended release of the diclegis probably works better than unisom&B6 because your body never really "runs out" of the stuff whereas the OTC versions might go through you quick and leave you stranded at some point.
Also, it made me drowsy the first few days but quickly stopped having that effect.

I wanted to add that at 19weeks I still take a low dose and am very glad I got on diclegis. I also appreciate that I didn't have to deal with constipation with this drug. I say go for it. If you take it for a week and it does nothing for you, you can always move on to zofran.
Btw, the dosing instructions are a little unusual. Make sure to read about that on their website. I also recommend printing the coupon in case your insurance requires a big copay for this. Mine did ($75), but the coupon made it $30.

I'm 10.5 weeks and I've been on it for about three weeks. I wouldn't say it's a miracle drug, but it has helped me A LOT.

I took it at the beginning of this pregnancy and it definitely helped. Also - I used the the coupon that @Iced Tea: mentioned from the company website each time I filled it.

My RE just put me on diclegis. I took 2 last night and mostly I just feel exhausted. Still feel nauseated this AM and I'm about to take another since I'm not driving anywhere until this afternoon. Yuck. Please work.
