I'm anxious/excited! I will start by taking a class this summer and then a full course load this fall. I'm excited to be starting school again but really nervous for how to make it work with a toddler. Especially since with my degree I'll have to take a lot of science classes with on-campus labs. Still not sure how I'm going to make that work in regards to child care 
Anyone else going to school while being a SAHM?

I'll be in your shoes in another year - returning to school while I have toddlers at home. Since I'm an English major, thankfully the class times shouldn't be too dreadful.

My aunt did her MBA while she was a SAHM. She had three kids, and she did it part time when the youngest was a toddler.

@Mrs. Pen: Does the school offer childcare? I know some colleges do! (I don't know where exactly you are, but I know the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities offers on-site daycare).

A lot of my coworkers wife did that for nursing! Which also has lab work. A lot of pick ups by daddy and grandparents!

@FutureMrsMcK: Nope. The U of M is not only crazy $$$ but hard to get into and an hour away. I'm going to a community college that partnered with another State School to offer a BSN program at the CC. There is no childcare.

@NaturallyCathy: are you doing night classes or online? It's rough with my husband's schedule because he works 3 nights a week so I don't even have the option to do my labs at night.

@Mrs. Pen: Ah, gotcha. My SIL finished her math degree over the span of about a decade, (she started when her first daughter was a toddler, took a while off and finished when her younger daughter was a toddler). Her neighbor watched the girls when she was at school.

It can be done! I started my graduate degree when I was pregnant, gave birth after the first semester, and have been in school ever since. It's been hard paying attention and surviving first with pregnancy brain, then with mom brain, but I THINK I've learned something? Either way, I'll be graduating in June and I'm due with #2 in September. Who knows if I'll ever get to put this degree to use, but hey, at least I'll be done.

@Mrs. Pen: I did it for B's first two years of life and I'm going back once E turns 1. Do you have family that's available to help? I couldn't have done it without my family.

I started my grad program whne DD was about 15 months and I was a few months pregnant with DS. For the first two semesters I was prgnant, parenting, working full time and going to school, but I quit work once DS was born to focus on school and the kids. Now I'm in my last real semester of classes. This summer I have a field study to do and then I will graduate (finally!) With my Master's in Library Sciences.
I think it's totally doable with a strong commitment to your goal and a helpful and understanding partner. There are times I struggle with tbe workload, but I'm glad to complete my degree now while the kids are young. They won't remember the hours I sacrificed with them to work on schoolwork, and I am so glad to be almost done with this requirement so I can move on to my dream job!
