I had big plans to take photos of DS every week or at least every month during his first year but have failed epicly on that!! I see all sorts of monthly/weekly photos on IG and here and I feel little guilty. I'm sure he won't care but it would have made a nice display for his birthday party! Oh well...
Anyone else not take monthly photos of their LO?

I didn't. Honestly, the early days were just too hectic and overwhelming for me. It felt like just another thing I had to do, so I skipped it!

I didn't do it for DD.
Figured we took thousands of more pics of her than we did of DS, so I did monthlies for him to make up for it.

We did them monthly but we didn't do them with a little chalkboard or in the same chair or with the same stuffed animal or anything. I did take her out and do some informal photos with her every month though.

I didn't do them the way most people do "nowadays" with the stickers or chalkboard and all that. I made a photo book (which has yet to be finalized and printed) of Lorelei's first year, and it has photos from each month, but they are just lifestyle photos and excerpts from our day-to-day. I think the monthly pictures are cool, but I have an all-the-way-from-HS hangover about not liking to do things that are trendy. But I will be the first to admit that it's a stupid reason not to do something

I didn't do them. We did take tons of pics and had a great display at her first birthday party even though they didn't follow a theme.

I took them closer to quarterly or whenever I remembered! But we still did pics for the party from each month. Just not wearing the same outfit. I almost think it's cuter that way.

We are doing them, complete with chalkboard and in the same chair, but they are turning out soo ridiculously bad. My camera sucks! I might as well just skip em

I did them but I can't wait to stop!!! DD2 is just about 10 months so I am almost done. I think it is a cool thing to have for both DDs, but it is definitely yet another thing you have to remember.

I didn't. When he hit three months, six months, and a year, I took a picture that day and noted it.

@petunia354: I take pictures every two weeks. On the changing table when he is just in a diaper. No cute stickers, chalkboard, or stuffed animal. And I just snap them with my iPhone, no fancy camera. The lighting is different, the blanket under him is different, and his position is always different. And I've also forgotten several times and taken them a few days late!

I have taken a ton of photos of him, though, just not an "official week/month" photo.

I do them monthly but I'm a photographer by profession so it makes sense for us! I keep them simple though so I'll actually do them! I knew if I made it too complicated, I would be over it. I'm a firm believer in doing things that make sense for you! Our shots take 5-10 minutes and then I put them together in photoshop because that's easy for me. If I did a chalkboard it would look like a grade schooler did it!

@petunia354: I had good intensions to but I didn't do it like how I had planned. So sadly I didn't keep up with the weekly pics. I do have monthly ones but they are all from my iPhone so I need to download those pics ASAP! She was such a sleepy newborn which I am grateful for so all of her pictures are of her sleeping. I wish I would have captured more awake moments.

I did them but they didn't turn out as cute as a lot of others' have. It was just with the same stuffed animal every month. And I didn't do one for one year, oops.

I started weekly photos, but it proved to be way too much work for me to do it alone. I would skip a week, and then it was so easy to give up. Same happened with weekly pregnancy photos. Only reason I'm keeping up now is because I'm using an instant camera and don't care about consistency of location or anything like that. I plan on taking weekly photos of LO2 with the same idea in mind with my instant cam.

I take monthlies, but I don't do them in the same location with the same toy or whatever. Just any cute outfit she fits in that month!

I figure between IG and my real camera I definitely have pictures from every month...they won't all be in the same place wearing the same clothes, but that's ok!

Nope! I take an excessive amount of photos each month on a day-to-day basis, but nothing planned or cutesy. I knew I'd be too lazy to keep up with them.

I have regret about this! I wanted to buy the adorable stickers to put on his onesies and take a picture every month. But the first month was so crazy that it never happened, and it seems like it's kind of pointless once you've missed the first couple months.
I do take pictures of him constantly, but I've totally failed at having a setup for them. I also never write anything down, I suck. But I am on a FB group with a bunch of moms from WB who had their baby the same month as me. I've considered going all the way back to see what I said to them in the early months and using that to fake like a journal entry per month. It wouldn't be totally fake though...I mean, it is stuff I actually said. So that's not so bad, right?? haha.

Oh the other thing I didn't mention is that some of then didn't turn ou well if the day fell on a busy day or whatever, and a the months went by it became difficult just to get a cute pic (because she's always on the move!) let alone one staged for a monthly shot.
