@chopsuey119: I was wondering too. I heard similar things about Ellen Pompeo leaving the show because her contract was ending and she wasn't sure if she wanted to sign another. Derek cannot die! & Grey's will pretty much cease to exist without Meredith!

@chopsuey119: According to twitter, Grey's is definitely coming back for a 9th season. Hopefully that will be with the full current cast. Actually, I could do without April Kepner. Yuck!

Not going to read anything. I'm going to assume it was good from the title of this post. It starts in 45 min for me since I'm on the west coast. Thanks for the reminder. I'm not used to seeing it this early. I probably would have missed it, if it weren't for this thread.

@chopsuey119: we've had similar stories in the local news lately about bird strikes (which is what I'm assuming happened) so it's the first thing that came to my mind. Having been a Grey's watcher since the beginning I figured they'd be ending the season on a highly dramatic note since certain actors are leaving.
I can't bear to part with McDreamy!

Honestly, I hope it's Arizona that dies. Sad, but she's the smallest character. It makes sense because now Karev has a reason to stay in Seattle. He'll take her job! -
Yes, they have to make it so that Karev stays so I think Arizona dies. I hope not Derek but if he dies then Meredith can stay, too.

Yeah, I think it might be Arizona, too. Plus, she did ask Callie to promise to never leave. *tear* I really liked Arizona.
Although, there is some chatter (on other forums) that, it might be April. She was pretty devastated.
I think Lexi looked like she was pinned under something. I hope she lives.

I am freaking out and can not wait until next week!!! It better not be Lexi or Derek, I want Lexi and Sloan back togehter and that would just be too cruel! And I can't remember if Jackson was on there, but if he was he better not die either, he is too pretty to look at!! Is it bad taht I'm okay with it being Arizona?
I've never really cared for her character & i thought maybe since she just made Callie promise to never leave her but she didn't make the same promise they would end it that way? Who knows.
Edit: I should have read the responses better, seems like I"m not the only one thinking Arizona!

Okay, I PVR'd the show and watched it this morning and THOUGHT it was over, but I never saw a plane crash. What?!! I totally deleted it at the point when I thought it was over.

I kind of saw this coming. I just re-watched all 7 seasons of Grey's on Netflix, and noticed that EVERY season opener & closer have some kind of major drama and/or disaster. So, I kind of knew something was going to happen.

I watched last night, it is pretty typical of them to do some kind of disaster for the season finale, and it seems they kill off a couple characters at the end of every season, so it is par for the course. It should make for an interesting last episode! I am hoping that Derek, Lexi and Sloan survive!

I can't believe everyone hates Arizona! I really like her! It is about that time that they set her up for something bad. It seems like she's the only one who hasn't turned into a patient.
I thought they showed Jackson & Mark trying to help Lexi? Maybe? I think I'll have to watch it again!
