My dad always worked as an engineer, but in high school my mom also started working as an elementary school teacher in a Japanese immersion program. The change had a big impact on my life, but I'm glad that she got to explore her career after focusing so much energy on us kids.

Both always worked full time. MIL was home for most of DHs life and only ever had part time jobs here and there. It was a big adjustment for him when he moved out of his house. His mom did a lot for him

Nope. I'm the oldest of five. We're spread over 8 years, and the middle one has special needs. We were my mom's full-time job.

Yep. Both worked full time. My mom was a nurse so she mostly worked the 3-11pm shift. My stepdad worked days. My older brother or one of his friends typically watched us in between.

My dad worked full time (more than full time, really). My mom did a variety of things, including SAH and work part time until we were in school, then she started working full time.

yep! both worked (my dad had a 2 year stint as a SAHD due to his company moving) and then my mom quit her job when i was in HS.
