How well did LO #1 sleep despite LO #2's MOTN cries?
I have a feeling LO #1 will be fine until the 5am cries.

For the most part. I still use white noise in his room, which helps!

Curious to hear what other mamas say on this. With #2 on the way, and their bedrooms right next to each other, I'm praying they won't wake each other up.

This is most definitely my biggest fear about having another....

yep! We have white noise in the bedroom and a box fan in the hallway - lots of background noise!

I'm a little different because my LOs are the same age, but they regularly sleep through each other's cries in the night. They share a room and are on generally the same schedule but we end up waking the other baby to eat 75% of the time!

#1 is a very light sleeper. She used to wake up w/ every MOTN cry #2 made, but that stopped after a month or so. Now, we leave a white noise machine in her room to help prevent her from hearing the cries.

For the most part they slept through the others MOTN cries...since #1 was still not STTN when #2 was born I was afraid they were just going to keep waking each other up. Some times they did, but mostly they didn't.

This was the thing I was most scared of also and it hasn't been a problem at all. Their rooms are right next to each other also.

Yep, he sleeps through it and their rooms are right next to one another. In the morning, he sometimes says he hears her cry at night, but he has never actually been woken up by the cries to the point that we have to intervene to get him back to sleep. I think he's a pretty solid sleeper though.

Yes but LO 2 was in our room for the first 3 months.

DS almost always sleeps through DD's cries and their rooms are right next to each other! I was worried about it too but it hasn't really been an issue.

yep! they share a bathroom and lo#1 hasn't woken up to lo#2s cries yet (altho its only been over a week..). but i've listened and when both their white noise machines are on i can't hear the cries from lo#1s room.

Yes - this was one of my biggest worries while I was pregnant with LO #2, but it has never been an issue. I don't consider #1 a heavy sleeper either. I did put a white noise machine in #2's room, and another one outside both their rooms to create a vortex affect.
Now that they share a room, #1 will just ignore the cries, and if she can't ignore them any longer she crawls into our bed (this is usually when #2 wakes up at 5:30-6 am in the morning). It works for us.
