I know when I was pregnant with Mavrick, the doc stripped my membranes but it didn't work and I was induced 1 week after my due date.
I just came back from my doc appt and he stripped my membranes this time around. He said if it worked, I would be in labour 24/48 hours. I'm really hoping it will work this time but I know it's really 50/50.
I was wondering what was your experience? Did it work, or not work.

I got my membranes stripped today too and dr. Said its only a 50/50 chance anything will happen. We will see!!!

I had my membranes stripped twice. The first time, it definitely did not work. The second time, I had it done on my due date and my water broke at 40w2d. I don't know that it was because I had my membranes stripped but I guess it could have been. I usually say that it didn't work. =/

@Mrsdaredevil: I know! I'm hoping the 50% is positive this time around. That would be a good average. No the first and yes the second.
I hope you don't have to get induced and go into birth naturally... fingers crossed for both of us! Early mothers day gift I say?!

@Sweet T: I've never experienced my water breaking and honestly... I would love for it to happen (minus the mess) Not sure it will though... so my fingers are crossed on contractions.
I'm even thinking of getting acupuncture... to target the natural induction "points"

My cramping started the day before my membranes were stripped. And I delivered 3 days later. So.... Yes and no??

@blushink: I hope it does work for you! I HATED having my water break, it felt disgusting, but the worst part was that it kept going and going so it made me so uncomfortable that I didn't even want to move the whole time I was in labor.

I don't know if it immediately worked for me, but I think it contributed to me going into labor when I did.
Unfortunately for me, I had steady contractions almost every night or 3 weeks before #2 was born. I hope your second comes a little faster than mine did!

Kind of. I had them stripped twice with nothing. The third time, it put me into labor, but I was checking in that day to be induced anyway (6 days overdue and low fluid). My labor resulting from the strip ended up stalling about 4 hours later and they gave me pitocin.

I think I might have lost part of my mucus plug after dinner.
I went to the washroom and heard a "plunk" in the water... but before I could check it out, Mavi flushed the toilette. BOO!
I definitely feel things are "working" had a few small contractions. Hoping tomorrow things will activate.

@blushink: My friend had acupuncture with her last two kids and she went into labour with her third the night of her appt. She had it in the morning!
Definitely try it!
I would try it but I am having a scheduled C-section.

@Mrsdaredevil: I've definitely been feeling some sort of cramping / mild contractions but that's about it. Wonder how today will be.
Fingers crossed for you, but stripping of membranes is so "unpredictable"
