I know a couple that didn't agree - he wanted 2 and she wanted 4!! They were at an impasse but then had an oops baby, and now they have 3 kids. She's come around and doesn't want a 4th, plus he went ahead and got a vasectomy after baby #3 was born.
Bee and I were lucky in that we both wanted 2 kids. If she had insisted on 3, then maybe I would have come around over time? But our family of 2 kids feels pretty complete to me.

Before we got married we talked about it - I wanted 3 and he wanted anywhere from 0-2
Since he already had 2 kids he thought 3 more would be too many. We agreed on 2 and have 2.

We currently don't. We have two, I'd like a third. He is firm on no. Pregnancy and PPD are bad for me, plus another kid in daycare is so expensive.

we both started out wanting 3 but I know DH would be ok with 4 lol he likes big families. Right now I'm at that point where I think 2 is fine but I'm open for a 3rd once I get over with this pregnancy

We always wanted three, but after a few losses and lots of IVF, he's happy now with 2 (expecting in October) - but my heart still says 3..

Yes! We totally agree. It would be so hard not to be in agreement on that.
My mom recently said she would have loved to have more children if my dad had been willing. That made me sad.

We both want 4, I'm just not sure we can afford it/I can handle two more pregnancies and births (I'm due with #2 in October).
I'm going to see how I feel once DD2 is about a year old (we wouldn't try before then anyway) and then we'll decide if we can really go for two more.

Yes, we both agree we are done at two. Every now and then the baby does something super adorable and I wistfully mention a 3rd and my husband looks at me like I have 12 heads, but we both know I would never actually push for a 3rd, I just get emotional a lot about my "last baby".

We both wanted 3 and now that our third is here (2 weeks old) we both think a 4th is up for discussion. Most likely yes but I'm sure family and friends will think we are crazy.

We have both always wanted two. So far we have one. We both keep going back and forth about the second. I think #2 will happen after DS is 4.

He's happy with whatever I want. He at least wanted one but is open to up to 3. DH always tells people when they ask that it's my body and a majority of the parenting is my responsibility. While I certainly appreciate his attitude I feel like it puts more pressure on me.

I always said I wanted a bigger family (3-4). I think DH would be happy with 2, but is willing to go for a 3rd. We have 2 now and are going to TTC a third definitely, but a 4th may be out of the cards. We'll see!

Before we got engaged, I wasn't even sure that I wanted to have any kids. My husband definitely wanted kids, so we put off the engagement until I figured it it. I finally decided that I did want a kid, but only one. He said that worked for him, so we got married and had our son. If I ever decided I wanted another, I know he'd be all for it, but we're both happy with just one.

We agreed on 2 if we had one of each, or 3 if we doubled up. We currently have one of each, but are both really open to having a third. Like 80/20 on having a third. lol But I think we'll truly stop at 3.

Well sort of yes, we agreed on definitely wanting two and then reevaluating to see if we want three. We both agreed that one more would be fun but now got a buy one get one free deal (aka twins) for no. 3 and 4. Now we both want those two but we would have been happy with 3 too.

Yes, we've always been in agreement, even when we've changed our minds. We both wanted at least one, and after she was born, we were both like "no way we're having another" until she was past 1, then we were both on board for one more. Now that #2 is on the way, we are both happy to be done at 2.

We both came to the relationship with very clear ideas about how many children we wanted - him 2, me 3. We agreed to start with 1 and then reevaluate. Our first baby was -and still is! - very challenging and, for a while, I thought perhaps we should stick with the one, but our second has been such an enjoyable experience so far I'm back to wanting 3...... and DH is firm that we are sticking to 2. I've told him the ball is in his court - get a vasectomy and we will stick at 2, but leave the birth control up to me and the 3rd will always be up for discussion!

I think he imagines a bigger family than I do. Where we don't agree is how far we're willing to go to have another child. If our next and last embryo doesn't become a baby then I'm ok with stopping. He would want to pursue more treatments. I'm hoping it works out and we can avoid the tough conversations.

We both want 2. He said he's fine with 1 and won't ask me to be pregnant again if I don't want to but I'm willing to be pregnant one more time to have one more baby. I hated being pregnant!

DH initially wanted 2, I wanted more but then we had one and both agreed that maybe one and done was the best path for us. Then after LO turned 3, we both felt ready again and now we are blessed to be expecting #2. It's funny, I think that he has been pretty consistent with wanting 2 but would have been one and done if that's what I wanted but I went from wanting 3-4 to maybe just 1 and settled on 2. Living far from family has definitely impacted my family plans in terms of number and spacing though.
