I'm noticing a few new screen names with very high bee levels. The avatars do not look familiar either. Are you name changers letting us know in a separate post?

I never did...I changed it when I was very new to posting on HB and I'm sure no one noticed!

I've noticed quite a few too! I normally don't find it too hard to figure out who's who. but I do always wonder why they'd change without announcing!

I changed mine but kept my avatar (i mean, how can I replace a cannibal cupcake?!) so people wouldnt get too confused.
I didnt announce and kept posting like normal. Is announcing something were supposed to do? Lol

I changed mine the beginning of the year and didn't announce it, just kept the same avatar and I recently changed that as well.
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I've noticed a couple of bees as well that changed their name recently and it's thrown me off!

I changed mine but kept my avatar. I mentioned it on the august poas thread, since that was the only one I'd really posted on much. It never occurred to me that anyone would care enough that I should announce it.

I never did. I, more or less, outed myself as my previous identity on the other bee. I remember it really surprised @winniebee!

@loveisstrange: I was "cascadecherub" and "carrieknitscake." I took on cascadecherub when I got pregnant on HB, so I couldn't be found with the knitscake username since I use it more publicly. cascademom isn't widely known among family and friends, just HB.

I will be changing my username and avatar as soon as I can come up with something a little more anonymous. I guess I'll do a gradual change so as not to confuse anyone.

While being able to change your name is a nice feature, I really don't like it unless it gets announced or the avatar stays the same. I feel lost trying to remember who is who, especially when it's a long time member.

I honestly haven't noticed any name changes but then again I mostly pay attention to avatars. Call me visual.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: nope, my avatar was of my black pug, but a lot of people thought it was a pig, haha. We had to put him down in June and it was too sad to be continuously reminded of him.

I don't like it when people change their names/avatars! I have a bad memory when it comes to these things so I get confused! I should keep a checklist of all names/avatars from now on!

i noticed some name changes too. i assumed some of them had to do with the feeling of lack of privacy that overcame hellobee with the gold threads being copied elsewhere, so i assumed there would no announcement and that some people wanted to change quietly and have it go unnoticed.
i want to change my name and when i do, i will change my avatar and i don't plan to announce (i just need to think of something i like). I've wanted to for a while but i haven't put any thought into it yet.
the only thing i don't like about name changes is that on previous threads when people reply to your name with the @: your old name stays the same in those thread replies so it is actually very easy to figure out who people used to be. Because of this, i am considering just making a new account and starting over when i am ready.

@looch: there should be! When u change your bane on wb, it changes all the replies in previous threads automatically. What you can never change though is if someone typed your username with no @ beforehand

I kind of did? I just created a new account. I was on WB for a couple years and kept the same screen name over here...I had maybe like 5 posts on it before I decided I didn't want the same screen name here.. (for searching purposes). I didn't realize we could change screen names, so I just made this new account. So I highly doubt anyone recognized I stopped posting, or who I was on WB. But I do have to say I recognize a lot of avatars and SN's from the ole WB days!
