Because of disappointment, joy, or both?
I don't remember any more but I'll say it's safe to say I did cry. Probably a combo of all of the above since I was about a week postpartum and my mom was staying with us. I remember it being hard because I couldn't do much for my mom since I was house bound due to "sit month". So I felt guilty for that. DH was outside working most of the day so I felt alone and sad on my first Mother's Day. I found out later in the day he was really sad because he was thinking of his brother who had passed just 2 years ago. He was sad he wouldn't ever get to experience parenthood. He did apologize and I understood and forgive him now, but was still sad about it then!
Anyway, for those of you celebrating your first Mother's Day. If you cried, you're not alone!
