If so, what was your favorite item?
I have two that I love...I made our bee mobile...after looking at and dismissing like a hundred mobiles I decided to make one. DH's nickname for me has long been Honeybee, so it felt right 
I did it towards the end of my pregnancy, and I found it was a great distraction.
The little canvases were made by guests at my baby shower.

I love the mobile and I love the canvases! They're both such special touches!
Right now I'm painting three canvases for her wall. Here's the first one. I'm about halfway through the second one right now. She's almost 7 months old but we moved across the country right before she was born so we're just getting around to finishing everything.

Aww! I will have to post pictures later- I DIY'd alot though! Refinished his dresser and changing table! Made his mobile, made his curtains and pillows for the rocking chair, painted him a whale canvas (his room is nautical themed) - i think thats it!

The canvasses are such a great project! Kind of reminds me of RealWorld New Orleans with the stairwell of graffiti'd books.

@cheert16: I made him a few pillows, too, and sewed together the big tapestry behind his mobile, but my sewing machine skills are beginner--I'm more proud of the hand-sewn mobile then anything else!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: It was one of my few requests for my baby shower...I slipped it into conversation with my SIL, who was co-hosting it...and told them the colors we were using in the nursery. My MIL (who's an artist) loved the idea, and got colors that (mostly) coordinated.

I love the bee mobile!! We made our own Ikea inspired picture ledges. Her room looks a little different now, but this was back when we were first putting it together (when we were team green). We also had the dresser re-done, and we re-did the glider on our own.

My favorite DIY was our mobile too. I found one that I liked on Etsy but I wouldn't fork over $150 for it so I just went for it. I'll have to find a good picture..

We painted the walls gray and I DIY'd some thrift store frames so they're now a pretty light yellow. I copied Mrs. Blue's idea of doing a 'love at first sight' picture of our first image of the little bean in one of them. I bought some beautiful multi colored paper from paper source and I'm going to make some kind of art with it. I also plan on making shelves for the wall and curtains.

The artwork is a project we did during my hometown baby shower. Each of the attendees picked out a print and animal shape to cut out, and then signed their names next to their animal.

I cut out a bunch of cardstock butterflies and put them on DD's wall. I still don't like the way that I arranged them, but DH made me promise to just leave them alone

@Mrs Hedgehog: I found a site online, it was $40 for all the wood (we bought way too much), paint/primer (a whole gallon) and then the wood screws. Something similar to this:

We didn't use wood glue though, just screws. We just screwed them into the wall too, they were very sturdy.

We are DIYing tons of things for the nursery, but this is the most recent project (it's more of an Ikea hack than a DIY, but I'll include it :). We spray painted black frames gold and took apart a Rifle Paper Co. calendar for the prints.

Wow! All of the DIY nursery additions are sooo amazing! Our nursery has a "safari" theme and our is centered around our bedding in which the animals are floating in hot air balloons. My best friend and I made a hot air balloon mobile and it is my favorite part of the nursery.

We've DIY'd almost the entire room. By we, I mostly mean my mom. She made the crib skirt, recovered a glide, made the roman shade, and a chunk of the artwork. I can't wait to put the small finishing touches on so I can share here!!!!

@FutureMrsMcK: Thank you! That mobile is awesome. You guys are so crafty (yet it doesn't even look crafty - if you know what I mean). We chose places that we love and have been or want to go, and the color of the prints helped in our decisions. Some of the options had really dark colors in them, so we left them out as they contrasted too much.

I did a LOT of DIY for C's nursery. Probably what I'm most proud of is her rocker though. I refinished and reupholstered DH's great-grandma's rocking chair. I also painted some sweet canvases for her.

All these pictures make me wish dd is gonna have her own room! Once we move, it'll be an older baby room, so I'll be coming back to look here for inspiration. She does have a couple handmade blankets, but that's pretty much it.
I'm so inspired by everyone's canvases!
