Growing up, we always had dinner together at the table. But when my dad had to move overseas for a job and my mom started working, we just made dinner for ourselves and ate in front of the TV.
Did you eat dinner together as a family growing up?

Yes. Every night .. eating in front of the TV or somewhere else wasn't even an option.
ETA: I do recall a few movie nights where we would have more of a snack type dinner. We would have a late dinner and set up while watching a movie.. maybe this happened once a year?

We did until we became teens. My mom started her own business around that time so it meant she worked alot of late nights and we all just kind of separated into doing our own things in the evening. =(

We ate dinner at the table as a family every single night. TV was not allowed. When I was 15 I started working several nights a week, and when I got home, a place for me would be set at the table - though I had to get leftovers out of the fridge myself.

We did every night. I can't think of a night we didn't eat together. Always in the dining room, never with television.

Yep, except when my dad was working late, then it would just be me and my brother with our mom.

Every single night. No exceptions. We weren't allowed to have the TV on. Just family time. I didn't realize how important that was until I was an adult. We do the same thing now with our kids, even if it means pushing their bedtime a little later.

Yep. Almost 100% of the time. When I was about 12, we each got a designated night to cook dinner, so that some of the pressure was off of my mom to produce meals. And if my Dad happened to be working late, the rest of us still sat down at the table together.

Every. Single. Night. We'll be doing the same with our family! We don't now since J doesn't really eat "normal" food and his schedule is just off from ours, but eventually we'll work it out
We do like to have "snack night" when there's a good basketball game on or something "special" like that and will continue with that as well so it's not a "chore" for J to have dinner with us.
