Dated a guy who was growing marijuana in his basement(like lots of it not just 1 little plant). Definitely would have never stepped foot in his house had I known. I even used to do laundry at his house in the basement until one day he told me I couldn't because "the basement flooded". Never found out until he got arrested.....it ended there immediately! I felt soooo dumb! Have you watched the MTV Catfish show yet? It's craziness!

OMG, yes. He was one of my first boyfriends, and told ridiculous lies like that he was a rally car driver in Poland, that he knew Paris Hilton...the list goes on and on. He used to drop into this fake British accent too!

Yes! ! ! My very first boyfriend who I dated when I was 17 was a TOTAL liar! Everything from how guys ex gf was stalking him, how he was a virgin (not), his family life, everything.

The craziest lie was after we broke up, and I was in college with a serious boyfriend. We were still friendly and talked every once in a blue moon. He told me this elaborate story about how he moved to FL, was engaged to this very rich girl with a rich family. He said he would invite me to the wedding.

A few months later, I ran into his cousin so I asked, " oh, how's Joey? I heard he was getting married." The cousin looked confused and said that Joey was never engaged... WEIRD!

Yes, my ex-fiancé. I think he's a sociopath at the very least. He told a lot of random lies during our relationship (example: he met the band System of a Down on an international flight and helped them write a bunch of songs--yeah right).

I Googled him a few months ago and found a YouTube video in which he claims that he got married to a woman from Saudi Arabia whose father came to the US and kidnapped her and now they're separated forever. There are many more details that would show how truly crazy he is, but...yeah. I feel sorry for him but he is a sick person.

Not may have been... was. And I dated him for 7 1/2 years. He lied about teeny tiny stupid things, not just the big things too.

We were long distance so it was easy for him to lie, but id still catch him. especially about smoking when he'd come to visit. But the one that finally ended our relationship was that he said he was going to school, and he would tell me details about his teachers and classes and grades on tests. Then he said his finals were coming up but I realized all my friends in school had been finished for over a month. So I looked on his school website and his was done too. So we were also done.

@MrsH: the big lies I understood. He knew I would dump him if he didn't lie about going to school, smoking, drinking, etc. But he would lie about stupid little things just to see if he could get away with it. Like tell me he went to lunch at Mcdonalds when he really went to wendys. Why?!

The biggest question is why didn't I dump him sooner.

@artbee: My ex wouldn't lie, but wasn't forthcoming either. We were long distance and during finals he would call to complain about how is prof wouldn't let him take the final exam....because he hasn't been to class in two weeks. Or mathematically couldn't pass. After taking a semester off for academic probation. I have no idea why. He blamed it on being too bush with his volunteer work with high school students, but I think he was just lazy and depressed.

@jedeve: yes my ex left out info too. In my world, that's the same as lying.
