Mine was in the afternoon, and I just ate normally. I was told you only have to fast for the three hour one.

For an hour before, but I failed the 1 hour both times.

For the one hour I ate normally. I did the two hour this time and was specifically told to fast, which is why it was booked for first thing in the morning.

First pregnancy I fasted since it was first thing in the morning and I failed. Passed the 3 hour with flying colors. This time I didn't fast and it was again first thing in the morning and I passed.

Baby 1- fast from midnight, test 8a, fail by 1 point, pass 3 hr easily

Baby 2- fast only an hour before...ate one piece of toast and a scrambled egg at 6a, test 9a, pass!

I think I was suppose to fast for 8 hours. I did. I think they said water was fine. I was pretty nauseous from HG so I wasn't eating much anyway. After I took the sugary drink, I did want to throw up and they let me have a cup of ice water. I think the ice water helped prevent me from throwing up.

Same as @sleepybear: they said not to fast but not to have lots of carbs or sugar before, so I made a point to have a higher protein breakfast. Passed both times.

My OB asked me to schedule it for early afternoon, eat a good breakfast, and then fast for three hours before the test.

I did the test right when the lab opened (7:30? 8?) and hadn't eaten that morning. I wasn't told to fast, but also had read stories about false positives because people ate X, Y, or Z thing beforehand so I didn't want to take a chance. I passed, luckily!

I went to a different OB for both pregnancies. First OB didn't have me fast and this one did. I passed both times.

2 hrs fasting but I try to avoid too many sugars and carbs 24 hrs prior

No way I could have fasted. I had an AM appt and just ate eggs and wheat toast and avoided anything sugary.

Nope! They told me to eat like normal, just avoid high sugar/caffeine things like coffee.
