When I saw SIL's son, I was just overcome with this feeling of "of course that's baby J! He looked so familiar and it was like he was someone I already knew.. If that makes any sense? Lol

I kind of did !!! The other half of me was just amazed he was all crammed inside me

No way. I was like who is this baby that is trying to eat from my boobs? Is it really mine? Because I didn't actually see her come out of my who ha. Dh saw her though..... Right?
And then I had all sorts of mommy guilt for thinking that. But I had crazy hormones going through me and I thought I should recognize lo and I didn't, and I don't know why I thought I should, I had never seen her before in my life.

It was like that for my first lo, as soon as she was laid on my chest I saw her face and she looked so familiar. Perhaps it was because she looked like me but with my second daughter I wasn't even sure that she was my baby. I don't know if it was because we didn't get the bonding experience of birth and skin to skin or what but it was a much different feeling.

YES! He looked exactly like I pictured. Even when I was little I always thought I'd have a little tan, dark-haired baby boy - no idea why. His face looks so much like my side of our family but his coloring is all DH.

Yeah I kind of did... I hadn't any idea what she was going to look like (although I assumed blonde and she's got tons of gorgeous dark hair) and when I saw her, I just remember thinking "there you are, you're amazing!". Then I explored her, looking at all her little quirks and everything.
