My cousin has 3 kids over the age of 5 and she pretty much made me take old clothing and an ancient Pack n Play. I didn't want the stuff but she insisted so I accepted it and donated it a few days later!

I would accept clothes, etc but anything that is going to take up too much space, I'd have to refuse. If I didn't like the clothes, or if they didn't fit, I'd just donate them

I pretty much accepted everything and donated what we didn't want - heck, we still get tons of stuff from my husband's coworkers and most of it gets donated. Some stuff has been really great, like this big plastic jungle gym thing with two slides for the backyard, but some of it (like outdated clothes or worn out books) goes straight to goodwill.

So far I haven't gotten anything I don't want, but it may come up with my brother and SIL. I live 5 hours away and don't see them that often, so they will send stuff on to me with someone else, so I have to take it no matter what it is. So... we'll see.

Oh yeah-- and SIL sent a bunch of clothes, including lots of definitely boy clothes in bigger sizes. We are team green so a bunch of them may not be used at all, but I have a friend having a boy a few weeks before me so I can always pass them on. (no problem with blue onesies or whatever, but some are just way to boyish to put on a girl). And a bunch are just not my style.

I feel bad turning down hand me downs so I keep them. I sort through the clothes and donate items that definitely wouldn't work. I keep the rest thinking I might put them on my LO but I never do.

I happily accept everything, and donate or give it to friends if I don't like it.

I've accepted a few things I don't like. I just hope DH is on board with me donating if I feel like we won't use it. We live in a small place, but he has a hard time getting rid of things. =(

I've accepted all the clothes we've ever been offered and have tried to salvage the ruined stuff before donating, but gear and such I have ALWAYS turned down. You never know what has been recalled or if it's on the precipice of wearing out, and I'm not about to have my kid be the one to find out and hurt themselves- everyone but my crazy SIL (who was offering me stuff from the dump anyway...long story) didn't even bat an eye that I didn't want their stuff.
