I was embarrassed because my dad had a thick accent, my mom was a WOHM who wore suits and our minivan (Chevy Lumina) was weird looking!

Everyone thought my dad was in the mafia.
I guess I wasn't embarassed. Pick on me and my dad will take care of you!

Nope. My parents were relatively "cool" and all my friends liked them.
I guess the only thing I didn't love is that when I was in 7th grade my mom started working at my school as an MHDH aid. And then somehow when I went to hs they moved her there too… (I really don't think on purpose, but still lol). She didn't come into contact much with my friends but it was still kind of weird having her IN my middle/high school and talking to all my teachers and whatnot all the time the last 6 years I was in school.

My dad never talked so he never really embarrassed me, my mom could (and sometimes still does ) but I love her for it.

Not too often, but every once in a while. When I was in kindergarten (and had a poor grasp on colors, apparently!) I would complain to my mom that my dad was sooo old and had "yellow" (gray) hair, which none of the other dads did. He actually wasn't even that old, lol. Maybe like, 38?

YES!! Because I thought my mom was the weirdest person ever due to her silly behavior at school. But everyone LOVED her and said she was the best!!
Maybe it's one of those things where "only you" think your parents are weird and they're actually okay? Nah. There's still things my mom does or says that I get all wide eyed and embarrassed about!

I used to be when I was a teen, mostly in HS. It was mostly due to the facts that we were immigrants and they acted different socially, and didn't speak perfect english. Thank goodness I matured and now I love and am proud of who they are!

My dad LIVES to embarrass me. On the rare occasion when he would drop me off at school (and I mean in high school), he would pull up ON the sidewalk to let me out. And then honk his horn as he drove away. He's fun.
