@MrsH: I was going to ask my OB about this! I got it 20 months ago (since C is 20 months now) in the hospital after delivery... so I guess I need to get it again soon with #2 due in May!

I got it, Hubs got it, and we asked all grandparents to get it (and the flu shot, since D was born in January).

Wow, thank you all for responding! All your responses makes me feel better about asking our families to get it as well and not seeming totally crazy by doing so I know he said that I could get it in the hospital after the baby is born, but I like the idea of passing on some immunity like some of you mentioned.

I have an OB appointment tomorrow, so I will definitely be asking him about it!

My OB recommended it in the third tri this time around (the study came out after my first son was born) so my husband and I both got ours updated. Our families were all current on theirs with various little people being born into the family, but it was a non-negotiable request for anyone who wanted to come spend time around the newborn.

yep. I had it a year ago, but they still had me do the booster at 28 weeks. DH too. MIL as well, since she will be the caregiver when I go back to work.

I got the vaccine at 28 weeks (just inside the window recommended for the best transmission to the baby). I felt pretty strongly about getting it, because there is a whooping cough outbreak at the school where I teach. I wanted to be sure the baby has some exposure to the vaccine because I know for certain that I've been exposed to pertussis.

My husband plans to get a TDap booster, but we will not ask anyone else to do so.

Not yet, waiting for the magical window when LO will get some protection through me (13 weeks pregnant at the moment).

Got flu in 1st trimester, as did DH. Glad I did.
