Yes, belonged to a local sorority (XAN)

I know a lot of people have negative associations with Greeks & sororities but it was a great experience for me. I had a really hard time meeting people freshman year and once I pledged (we rushed before 2nd semester) I instantly met a bunch of people who were like me. Most of my sisters are still some of my closest friends now.

Alpha Phi! I didn't rush until my sophomore year because I thought I would never in a million years pledge, but it really helped me to connect to campus (I commuted) and feel a sisterhood bond that I missed from my all girl high school. Our school was really, really strict on the hazing issue and any other things that would bring a bad name on Greek Life/our university, so I liked it. Our Greek community was pretty small, which led to some issues between chapters, but overall, I had a really positive experience. I got my first taste of teaching as the New Member Educator
