Yep! But it was just a daytime thing. I got to go home at night and sleep in my own bed.

One week a summer my siblings and I would go to a summer day camp held at the local school. I think it was to give our babysitter a vacation lol

I maaaay have gone to...wait for it...horse camp. *hides in shame* I was like, TOTALLY horse obsessed and it was a week-long camp...where...we just...did horse things. We learned to ride different ways...took care of the horses. Sigh. It was honestly pretty bad.

Yes I loved it! Lots of church camps that were 4 days and then one summer camp that was a week long.

@ms.janedoe: I live in horse country. Everyone goes to horse camp at some point. No shame.
And I went a few times to a summer camp run by a local nature park/zoo. It was really fun and we got to work with animals as well as camp/canoe/swim, etc.
My favorite camp experience was Space Camp! I totally thought I was going to be an astronaut growing up. Guess I'm glad that didn't pan out.

Yes, I did Girl Scout camp when I was younger....day camp and the week/2 week horse camps. When I got older it was training camp for figure skating.

I went to a sleep away hippie camp. I attended the three week session and my mom worked in the kitchen to pay for my tuition! It was up in the mountains in the middle of nowhere and included pretty much any camp activity you could hope for: horses, swimming in rivers, hiking and backpacking, pottery, silkscreening, other arts and crafts, sing-alongs, gardening, baking, taking care of all the animals, archery, blacksmithing...
They have a yearly alumni weekend that I really want to attend sometime, but it's 5 days after my due date so we definitely won't be going this year!

I did, and I loved it. I would have loved it so much more if it had horses though...
