Reading over my birth in progress thread, I noticed that I got a post surgery (c-section) anemia about 2 days after having the babies. I did need one blood transfusion.
I was definitely out of it the day I was diagnosed with anemia. I remember being so out of it. I felt much better after the blood transfusion. DH said he definitely saw a difference before and after the blood transfusion.

Yes. I have low platelets and anemia. I delivered last week. They decided not to give me a transfusion and I'm on steroids and iron to try to get my counts back up. It made recovery rough. They anticipate it'll take about 3 months for my count to return to normal.

I had a c section and had some random internal bleeding. When I tried to get out of bed I fainted. They did blood work and my hemoglobin had dropped really low. I stayed an extra night in the hospital and got a blood transfusion, and then had to take iron supplements for the next month.
