I had a delicious breakfast this morning but I can still taste it almost 2 hours later....I guess my reflux has started at almost 34 weeks.
Did you have reflux during your 3rd tri? Did taking Tums help you?

I had lots of reflex 3rd trimester. Tums helped me a bit but reflux was still there. I never tried anything else though. Hope you feel better.

Yep, tons of it and heartburn. I couldn't eat comfortably until after delivery.

It's been frequent lately. Tums doesn't help. I want to stay hydrated, but drinking lots of water makes it worse

Yes. It actually started in my second trimester and lasted until I delivered. Tums helped somewhat, as did papaya enzyme. On days when it was really bad I would take Zantac 75.

Yes. It was awful. I'd wake up all night to take tums because laying down would make it awful. They eventually stopped working and it suuuucked!

Yep. I took Tums and zantac, but nothing really helped. We even elevated the head of our bed. It was terrible, but it was gone after I delivered!

I had it bad. I took tons of Tums and chugged milk like crazy. I would wake up at night with stomach acid in my mouth.

I only had it when I ate tomatoes. So I just stayed away from spaghetti and pizza until after I had the baby. It's all good now! It didn't start til 3rd tri.

I had it the whole darn pregnancy! Tums helped, but Prilosec was best.

Yes terribly! I would choke on acid while sleeping which would lead to vomiting. Nothing helped me!

I went from morning sickness directly into daily (and nightly) heartburn and it hasn't let up at 26 weeks so I think it will be with me for the long haul. I elevate my head at night, eat small meals, don't eat after 7 pm, avoid triggers (tomatoes, onions, etc.), drink milk, devour Tums, but nothing really helped until I started Prilosec last week. Heartburn just disappeared! I'm not big on taking meds, but I couldn't imagine going another three months with constant heartburn!

I was going through a gabillion Tums a night, and finally told my doctor. She told me I should have told her earlier, and marched me down to the pharmacy to get Zantac. SO MUCH BETTER!

It was the worst from 32-37 weeks. The only true cure was having the baby

Yes I had it, like a bitch, for my entire pregnancy. Tums were like using a watering can on a bush fire, lol. Max strength Zantac and gaviscon in liquid form helper but there was no magic cure. Sorry, I know it sucks.

Yes! I had terrible heartburn, but I was really admit about not taking anything besides prenatals and fish oil that I just sucked it up and tried to modify my diet to help.
ETA: I ate ginger candies like Ginger People to try and help

Breaking my meals up into 6 small meals has done me wonders as far as heartburn goes!

I had terrible reflux. I went through bottles of tums with mixed results. Sometimes nothing helped.

Yes and yes! I didn't have bad reflux, but toward the end I would get it when laying down at night and I'd pop a Tums or 2 before bedtime. The most miserable time I had reflux was during labor at 10cm, right before pushing. And I didn't have Tums and the idea of taking a liquid medicine made me want to vomit...sooo miserable!

I had it the entire time I was pregnant with DS. I had to take Zantac as needed.

Mine just started around 32 weeks. I'm 34 weeks now and it's pretty mild, 2 Tums does the trick for me.

I had GERD before pregnancy, so that continues. So far it hasn't been *worse*, but that's because before I had it pretty badly on a daily basis already. It's about the same now.
After I got pregnancy, my doctor made me stop my prescription omeprezole (I was taking 400mg a day after my esophegeal stricture!)and switch to 2 doses of 150 mg of Zantac a day (morning and night) and that was a very rough transition---the Zantac wasn't helping as much as I needed. But now I supplement with Gaviscon chewables (they work better than tums) in between the Zantac doses and find some relief that way.
It suuuucks.

My reflux was horrible all the way through my pregnancy but it was especially rough during the third tri! I don't miss that at all!

Try eating an apple, peel and all - surprisingly, it works. Chewing gum, and drinking milk is supposed to help too.
