We actually didn't name Charlie until we were about to leave the hospital!
It got me thinking: at what point do people actually name their babies?
ps Mrs. Bee and I both had infinite vetoes, which is probably why the process took so long!

We had, and have the names for both babies before birth. We knew the process would take a LONG time (because we both have infinite vetos too!) so we started as soon as we knew the sex.
That being said, we always told ourselves that if the name doesn't "fit" with the baby at first glance, we will reconsider. With Claire, she definitely looked and FELT like a Claire when she was born...and we're hoping the same for BebeDeux too!

Yup, we do. We aren't TTC yet and we have two boy names and one girl name picked out. We decided them about a year after we got married.

we did - i think we decided on her name a month before we found out her sex.. we had both a boy and girl name prepared. we even know the names for any possible future children already (god willing)... but who knows, it could change!

We had a girls name and a boys name picked out almost as soon as we found out I was pregnant. If we ever have another one we'll use the boy's name we didn't use but we'd have to hit the drawing board again for a girl's name.

We zero'd in on Little G's name a couple of months before he was born...at that time, we also knew our girl name because of familial naming requirements. Since the next one's a girl, her name has been 'known' since a couple of YEARS before she'll be born!

We have our names picked out already (actually since before I got pregnant!). I guess we lucked out and liked each other's suggestions. We find out in 4 more weeks at the anatomy scan!

Well, I had a girl's name picked out, but I recently realized I can't use it (I don't know why I didn't realize it sooner). It's the same name as one of my husband's cousins, so I feel like I can't really use it. Now I need to come up with new names, but I'm pretty sure we'll come up with some before the baby is born.

We had one boy name and one girl name that we loved and when we found out that I was having a girl, the girl name we picked started floating around in conversations between me and the hubs. We kept saying, though, that we'd keep an open mind but her name stuck like glue.

We have several names picked out for both genders, so we can decide which one fits best when we meet the baby. We'll probably add to the list over time with each pregnancy, so we still have a few to pick from for each baby.

I'm on TTC yet, but we have 1 girl name and 2 boy names pretty much picked out. I guess I feel that the baby will "look" or "feel" like whatever name we pick out becuase we have waited for them for so long. If not, then we will be screwed becuase it took us months to agree on these names! ha

We became sure of our daughters name the minute we found out we were having a girl

We had and have the names picked out before birth. With our first, we had the first name and decided on the middle name when he was born. With our current baby, we made our name decision about a month ago and the middle a few days ago. With both names, we waited until mid third trimester before really deciding.

We had names picked out before we even knew when we wanted to TTC! We aren't telling anyone our names though

We have a girl's name chosen and a boy's name more or less chosen (husband won't make a firm decision until I'm pregnant. The middle name may change when we run it past his mom, though.) One of my godsons wasn't named until the last minute because the parents could NOT agree on a name.

I'm not even pregnant and we have a boys name picked out. I think we will have a name picked out with a back up or two in case the name doesn't really fit when we meet our baby.

We had the name before we even knew the sex. We had the boy and girl name. I'm pretty sure we'll use the boy name for the next if we have a boy next time.
