My hubby did not! Still makes me just a tiny bit disappointed when I think back to it, but it was a great proposal otherwise!

No bc he was stuck on the inside of a half-circle booth. So I made him re-do it "properly" when we got home

Yep, I have pictures of it. He proposed to me in front of my parents on Christmas Day during presents.

Yep! Amidst a hike overlooking the Pacific on a beautiful fall Sunday afternoon.

Nope. we were sitting there and just decided to get married...that weekend!

Yes, but I ruined it. He's so tall and I wasn't expecting a proposal, so when he got down on one knee, I thought he was just getting down to my height, so I leaned in and gave him a hug. He had to push me back a little so he could continue the proposal. womp womp

Yes, but we were walking on the beach in the dark and I could barely see him! He had to stand back up to put the ring on my finger because he was afraid of dropping it in the sand haha! It was perfect

Yes! On the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. He actually wouldn't get up, I said yes and then "get up, get up, I want to hug you!" I swear it felt like he was on his knee for like an hour!

nope, he was sitting on the side of the bed i think, not entirely sure since i wasn't even looking at him.... it wasn't the best proposal, haha. he didn't even ask, he just kind of announced it & handed me the ring.

Nope. Overall I don't have an awesome proposal story, but I guess that doesn't matter cause all I really wanted or cared about at the time was to be able to call him "fiancé"

No. We were on a suspension bridge and it was shaky so he was too scared to go down and then drop the ring.

Yep, we were on a rocky beach in Rhode Island at sunset and it was freezing and we were tired from traveling. It was perfect though. We had been once before and I had told him it was the most beautiful place I'd ever been. So when we went back, he took the opportunity to make it even more special and propose.

No...I was in my car. I was on my way out for a group bike ride and I guess he couldn't wait any longer and he came out and I rolled down the window and he proposed. We were already planning the wedding so I knew it was going to happen, but I was so taken aback I didn't even get out of the car! I felt so silly afterwards. I just left and went to my bike ride.

Nope. We were at the Grand Canyon and having our picture taken (we were seriously right next to the edge and at a spot w/o a railing!) so he was standing behind me with his arms around me. Then he whispered some stuff to me and dangled the ring in front of my face.

I chose a special situation. We were on top of rocks at our special spot and he swiveled and kind of dropped a knee but it would have been dangerous and painful to do it properly.

Nope, special situation. He was in his dress blues and wasnt allowed to.

Yep! Right in the living room floor. Mine wasnt the most romantic (I was in PJ's and watching cartoons) but it was perfect to me!

Yes, but I did have to tell him to put the ring on already...he thought I was supposed to take it out of the box and put it on myself, I assumed he'd put it on my finger!

Yes but overall the proposal wasn't how he wanted it to go. Some random guy at our credit union ruined it for us. But hey it was sweet nonetheless!

Yes - it was on the beach in Jamaica after a delicious meal ... I was sooo tired though after flying all day and just wanting to go to bed. I couldn't understand why he kept wanting to walk farther on the beach. Turns out getting proposed to is the ultimate way to wake up and forget about sleep deprivation

He did but I kinda forced him bc nothing else was ordinary or traditional (I picked the ring up from the jeweler, I knew it was happening that night)

Nope. We were just chilling in bed bf getting up for the day when he surprised me with the ring. Not the most super romantic but it suits us.

He did! It was so, so sweet. I still love to go to that spot and I'd like to have pictures taken there.

Nope, and I never wanted him to. I think it is weird. I also didn't want him to ask permission from my parents first, because I think it is an antiquated and bizarre tradition.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
Yep! He said he almost forgot to with the nerves building up!
