Did you keep a journal or anything during your pregnancy? I kinda want to buy a pre-made journal book but not sure which ones are recommended. Or if they're lame.

I've just used a nicely bound notebook to journal my pregnancy. One of the things I've missed about not having my mum around is that I can't ask her things about how she felt and so free-writing has worked best for me.

Yes, and I am SO glad I did. I already refer back to the journal for when I was pregnant with A. I have this one for both babies:

I bought the Belly Book and wrote in that every week, along with taking weekly belly pics. I still haven't taped the picutures to the book but I have printed them out, so I'm getting there. I really enjoyed writing in it every week and then again when he was born. I hope to find time to do it again when we have a second.

No but I really wish I would have. Also, not talking hardly any pictures of my pregnant self or getting maternity photos is another huge regret.

I did not because I figured I would remember everything and I could kick myself for not making/getting a journal...I really wish I did because even though the pregnancy was so special and important to me, I just don't remember certain stuff that I really wish I had.

I blogged. I wish I'd gotten the Belly Book, though. Now I realize the value of having something tangible rather than an online thing, especially since Blogger lost all of my pictures. )c:

I keep notes on my phone since it's more convenient. When I make a scrapbook for baby I can include things from my notes.

I blog each week, and we plan on turning those posts into a nice book after the baby arrives. I also have two pregnancy journals, but I've totally neglected them.

i blogged about it and am glad i have some sort of record to read back on for future pregnancies.

I bought a little notebook and tried to write in it frequently. However, I've been REALLY bad lately (like, skipped 4 or 5 weeks) but I do enjoy being able to write little notes to future-me and future-baby to look back at later. Thankfully, DH has been good about taking a photo every week or two, but I need to get back on my journaling. I recommend getting something, just to keep track for later/next time/when LO is curious.

@Bao: @Orvis18: I'll have to look at those books!! What's the Belly Book look like?

I have an open shutterfly project I update every two weeks with a picture of me and how big the baby is and how I'm feeling. I also update everytime we have an ultrasound or a milestone. There's special pages just for the story of finding out he's a boy and how we picked his name.
I tried to physically journal (writing) but I couldn't get into it. I really enjoy making my book though!

@Danizaur: Ooh, that's a cute idea!! Does shutterfly have book templates for things like this?

I used monthly moleskine planners
http://compare.ebay.com/like/310603488391?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar
and theyre little enough to just throw in my purse and write a couple lines a day. I found it especially helpful in the first trimester when i still had to keep everything hush hush.

@LindsayInNY: Yes! They actually had a pregnancy journal template that's super cute. I'm using it right now!

@Orvis18: @Mrs. Jump Rope: Belly Book has a ton of good reviews, I just wish there were previews of the inside online! I might have to find a local bookstore...

@LindsayInNY: I've looked at the belly book at a bookstore and thought it was so cute. I had it in the back of my mind to get when I got pregnant but used my other idea instead.

I bought the belly book and used it pretty well for the first half of my pregnancy but then really stopped. However, I also started writing in a Word document a weekly journal to my son about my pregnancy and I've kept up with that the entire time. I figure I want to create my own photobook for him, so I can copy my weekly comments and put them in the photobook once he's born.

I wish I had done a belly book or journal of some kind. We've been using the baby book by the same brand.

I started an ongoing Shutterfly book inspired by this post:

i used an app called Sprout. I never finished filling it out though and totally lost interest after I had my baby. I was gifted a baby book though with sections to fill out on my pregnancy and i have started filling it in.

@LindsayInNY: I had the Belly Book and completed the entire thing. I am really glad I have it.

@tarabonno: That book is super cute!! Can you create an ongoing Shutterfly project throughout?
cherry / 228 posts
@LindsayinNy Yep! I modified their existing pregnancy books. I can send you a link to mine if you want... Not sure if you can steal the layout or just design something like it. Of course, I'm only on week 5, but you'll get the point!

@tarabonno: That would be awesome!! Seeing as I just found out, I'm clearly way ahead of things right now I figured I would think about this now before it's too late?
cherry / 228 posts
@lindsayinny Girl, I am all of SIX days ahead of you!!
I can only e-mail you the book, so will you post your address on my wall or something?

I've just been writing in a blank journal, like a diary but I write it as notes to the baby, and I used it to take notes at my first doctor's appointment too

Nah I didn't have much time. I was the busiest in my career ever! I did take weekly photos and am happy I did that. I also have a weird memory and remember weird stuff like cravings and when I first felt movement without having to write it down.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
No, I didn't have much time or desire, but then I still haven't done anything with my wedding photos 5 years later and my maternity photos almost 3 years now.
It was, for me, important at the time, but looking back, the birth itself was what I wanted to remember, do I wrote that down.
I also didn't want to start and then have bad news, if you know what i mean.
