I've known about the feature since I started driving, but recently, we rented a car and the child lock was on. DH's mom was trying to get out of the car and DH was saying he didn't understand why it wasn't unlocking. Aww, DH didn't know about child lock feature. That's so cute! He learned. I told him how to disable it.

Yes, but only because of similar situations where someone got stuck in the backseat when the child lock was on accidentally. And the driver usually thought it was funny and didn't open it right away.

Yeah, used to use it on friends in high school... It was funny when they couldn't get out of the back seat!

@Mrs. Microscope: Now that I think about it, I used it when I was a kid. My siblings and I would put it on to lock each other in the car.

Yes. My parents used it on us when we were little so I've always known about it.
