I mailed invites to my next door neighbor and MIL.

Yes. I think it is so fun to get nice things in the mail. I'm throwing a little baby sprinkle for my friend's second baby and I'm sending her and our friends the invitations even though they all know the details.

Stamps went up to A DOLLAR last week here in Canada (wtf??!!) so I hand delivered a lot of baby shower invites I had to hand out. Though usually I mail because I love getting mail myself!

My group has gotten into texting invites (using cute apps). So for birthday parties and other small events I don't mail any invites. For Christmas I mail everyone their card. For thank you cards I hand them to the people I see often (ILs, daycare, friends, etc).

@Alivoo01: @beachbee: I'm all for hand delivering too. But if I could put it in the mailbox, I would do that over just handing it to the person. I may be childish, but I love something pleasant in the mailbox.

I went back to where I grew up a few weeks before Christmas and handed out my Christmas cards at the party!

I always mail. I love getting mail so I assume other people do too. It's worth it to me to pay the cost of a stamp to brighten up someone's day with a fun surprise in the mail, even if it's just a party invite.

I go around dropping things in mailboxes myself if it's someone nearby, or just hand them out to save on the stamps.
