Currently 40+8 and have agreed to an induction at 40+12, really hoping I don't make it!
Stories of going into spontaneous labour after 41 weeks would be much appreciated

I think I voted correctly. Induction was scheduled for tues am when I would have been 41 + 1. Water broke on Sun Eve and LO arrived on Monday night at exactly 41 weeks. No labor signs or anything just felt tired and off that day. Good luck to you!

I made it to my induction for LO 1 at 41 weeks. They said I was not effaced at all when I checked in. I needed two rounds of Cervidil to get things going.

@jhd: haha yes you did vote correctly. I know I made it very specific!
@autumnlove: that is really good to know, I'm hoping being so far over will mean a better induction experience.

I had an induction scheduled for 41+5 (so I guess 40+12? lol) but in order to let me go that long they had to do an ultrasound and NST on 41+1 to make sure the baby was okay waiting until the end of the week. Baby was fine but my blood pressure was high so they decided to keep me and induce right then (surprise!).
But if it makes you feel any better, when they checked me in I was "less than 1" and 50% effaced. After 2 rounds of cervidil, then a foley catheter, then the very lowest dose of pitocin for only 2 hours, I made it to an 8 in 12 hours from the start of the induction (which I thought was pretty awesome because I expected it to take much longer starting from nothing like that).
I did end up with a c section but it was not because I failed to dilate (my fear with induction). It was because LO was sunny side up and tilted in such a way that she was putting pressure on my cervix and making me swell shut again. Add to that meconium in fluid, a fever for me, and heart rate issues for her-- it was sort of game over. But! Despite all of that if I ever had another baby and had to be induced I would feel better about things because the surgeon said that LO's positioning was just a fluke and I am an excellent candidate for VBAC and I obviously take to induction very easily. So I don't think inductions always have to suck??

I had my first naturally at 40+5 but went post dates with my second and had her via induction on 40+13.

Induction at 40+14. Really was hoping to go naturally before that but I have no complaints!

With Char, I was induced at 41+1 (so 40+8?), and had her on 41+2. I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced when I went in, I think? I declined checks at my OB appts, so I don't remember.
With Harry, I was scheduled to be induced at 8:00am on 41+2, but I ended up going into labor 6 hours before my induction time!

I didn't vote, but my water broke the day I was scheduled for an induction at 40+6. Baby was born via c-section the next day because I never had contractions after my water broke (naturally or on pitocin).

I was scheduled to have a post dates assessment at ten days overdue and went into labour at eight days over. I could be wrong but I don't think it's that common to go the full two weeks over!

Yes. I was scheduled at exactly 40 weeks for exactly 41 weeks and I was induced that day.

I was scheduled for induction at 40+8...had two stretch & sweeps at 40+2 and 40+5. Went into labour at midnight on 40+5 and had my son at 1pm on 40+6!

@Snowdrop: thinking of you, hoping it happens for you naturally soon. Are you dilated at all yet?

@MrsHansen82: I was able to have a sweep last sunday so must have been a bit dilated. She said my cervix was 2 cm thick when they would expect 3 cm if there had been no change. We don't have checks unless you are in labour here. Having a sweep tomorrow as a last resort before induction on tuesday.
Off for a 2.7 mile walk in an hr or so!

Went into labor naturally at 41+4 in the evening, LO was born 41+5. Induction was planned for 41+6!

My induction was scheduled at 41+4 (40+11) but my water broke naturally at 40+4. I did end up induced anyway because my body didn't go into labor when my water broke.

FX the sweep works! My doctor did tell me that most people do go into labor naturally before their induction so hoping that's you!
