I missed my company holiday party because it was 2 days before my induction.
Did you miss any events?

I'm only skipping a 31 party a friend is throwing, which I wasn't interested in going to, anyways, lol

Black Friday
I always go out with a group of friends but I was hospitalized on Thanksgiving with complications. Boooo... I sent a friend out with my list & store cards, haha

I missed my cousin's wedding and going out to Las Vegas for our big work convention. All of them were before my due date but too far into my pregnancy to travel comfortably.

@mrsjyw: I missed my hs reunion too. LO was 2 weeks old. I was ok with that though

Leading up to it I went to every social event I could. I wanted to take my mind off of the waiting. I did miss a friend's baby shower after LO was born, but just because I couldn't get my act together in time to make it. It was a brunch.

My parents 40th wedding anniversary is a month after my due date. We (their five kids) are throwing them a surprise anniversary party but it will be five hours away and I can't see myself making it to a big party like that with a less than one month old.

Nope, neither time. With DS, I went to my church's picnic the night before I was induced.
@Foodnerd81-depending upon how you are feeling you may want to go; I took DD to a bridal shower 3 1/2 hrs away when she was 2weeks old and to the wedding when she was 5weeks old. It wasn't too bad because she slept pretty much the whole drive with just one stop for feeding/diaper change/potty break.

A good friend's wedding was two weeks after my due date - ended up being 8 days after LO was born. It was a 2 hour drive to get there so we knew unless she came a few weeks early there was no way we would be up to it.

I was due on Super Bowl Sunday and gave birth the day before, so I missed a friend's party. But if I hadn't given birth yet, I still would have missed it - I was just too large and uncomfortable.

I have said no to 2 baby showers the weekend after my due date...I consider it a great excuse not to go, whether baby is here or not.

I missed a friend's annual holiday party. Also, DH and I bought tickets to Book of Mormon before I got pregnant and we ended up selling them to a friend. That was a bummer (although offset by having a cute baby around).

I'm not a big "social event" person...Mainly bc I've always worked in sales so at the end of the day, I'm tired of being they"Perfect Me" and just want to relax in the home that I'm very proud of myself for making so relaxing! So I thought it was an added bonus that pregnancy, L&D, and now having LO gets me out of having to go to stuff!

I missed my sororities alumnae lunch which was on my due date and out of state, but LO was 9 days late and induced so I could have possibly gone.
We also missed Easter 2011!! DS was born Easter Sunday

We missed dh's family reunion because it was the weekend before the due date. It is a good thing we didn't go because I went into labor and had her during the second day of the reunion. We would have been 3 hours away!
