We moved to a 3 bedroom from a 1 bedroom when I was 8 months pregnant with Charlie.
Did you move to a bigger place because of kids?

We moved to a bigger place, but space wasn't the issue. We didn't want stairs, and we wanted a fenced in backyard and a garage. I pictured myself carrying lo in the pouring rain with all my groceries on the long walk from the car to the house, and then having to walk the dog when lo also pooped. So I was very happy to move where I can just pull into the garage and let the dog out back.

No, but maybe we should have...We just didn't want to give up our location, but that means that hubby has had to give up his office which is not a great situation.

When we bought our house 2 1/2 years ago, we bought it with plans to have a family in mind. This home could last us forever if it needs to, though we plan on building our dream home in the next 5 years or so.

We moved to a larger place to prepare for LO(s).

Yes, we bought a 5 bedroom house. We used to live in a 1 bedroom apartment.

Yup, we moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 4 bedroom house. We closed on the house a day before our second was born and moved a week later. That was a stressful time.

Yep. When we found out I was pregnant we bought a house and left the apartment. : )

We won't immediately move - we currently own a 2 bedroom condo with a bonus third room so there's enough room for the baby's room and an office. But, probably will move when LO is around 1 : )

Partially...we're moving from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom at the end of this month, in part because we found out we were expecting last month. If we hadn't been pregnant, we might have just moved to another 1 bedroom.

We didn't. Probably won't move for a couple of years.

@hilsy85: Congrats!!!! I didn't realise you were expecting! Wonderful news, when are you due?
And to answer the original question, we have not moved from our 1-bdr even though we are expecting LO in June. This is partly becasue we have two year lease and I don't feel like losing money on it, but also because we want to buy when the lease runs out so no point moving now.

@plantains: Thanks my dear!! I'm due 10/23, and I actually have my first OB appointment today! I'm both really nervous and really excited Also, our new apartment is in Brooklyn, so we'll be Brooklyn buddies

We haven't yet because we live in a 3 bedroom, but we will probably have 2 LOs and want to move to a larger home when they may want to not share a room and that way we don't have to give up our office.

@hilsy85: Wow, your appointment will be great! My first appointment was wonderful and my OB did an ultrasound so I got to see the bub. That is the best thing about UES OBs, so many ultrasounds!
Brooklyn is the best! I would say welcome, but I moved to Long Island City an few months ago. It is temporary though, as soon as our lease is up we will buy a two bedroom in Brooklyn, so we can still be Brooklyn buds ha!

@plantains: Oh no, I thought you were still there Well I hope you come back soon!
And that's good to know about the OB--mine is on the UES as well.

@hilsy85: I still spend the bulk of my time there because all our friends still live there so meetups etc and potential future playdates shouldn't be a problem

We bought a house last summer with the plans that we'd be filling it with LOs pretty soon. We also bought a bigger car last fall.
I am really thankful we don't have to go through the moving process or buying a new car while I am pregnant.
