I definitely one-strapped it, starting in 7th grade... was amazed to read that this is no longer the cool thing to do!

I didnt carry a book bag. My locker wasn't big enough and we couldn't have them in our classrooms.

One strap, but my oldest informed that "everyone" wears both straps.

Two! When I was in high school it was cool to wear your backpack the proper way....two straps and high up on your back. Most people even strapped the chest strap!

Had to be two because I carried ALL my books with me! There wasn't enough time in between bells to go to my locker and swap out books. I think I'd be lopsided permanently if I one-strapped it.

Two usually, but it never even occurred to me to do it one way or the other because it was cool. I went to a magnet high school, and had lots of books, so I needed the support of two for all the weight. It wasn't uncommon to see people using the chest strap too.

Two. Everyone two strapped. And almost everyone carried all their books always so we had to two strap!

Two, but it was cool to have two straps and have them be totally loose so your bag was down by your butt. So ergonomically incorrect.

We weren't allowed to have backpacks. So I used a tote bag or just carried one book at a time or however many I needed and a purse.
Now that I think about it, why were we allowed tote bags but not back packs? Not like I couldn't fit a gun in my tote bag.

1 strapped...and then paid for it by going to the chiro at the young age of 12.
Did you watch 21 Jump Street? I loved that scene about the 1 strap vs 2 straps!

I was forced to two-strap it and have it all the way up because my books were so heavy. It was "in" at my HS to have the giant Jansport backpack, plus I didn't know my locker combination and had to ask my locker partner every few months.

I never really carried a bookbag in HS, I went to my locker between classes to get the next book. I think if I did have it I did 2 (which I think was cool?) haha I don't think people cared! haha I did two in college because it was heavy.

One strap-- we had lockers so we would only need to carry two classes' worth of books at a time. I used a messenger bag in college.

One strap. My high school also didn't really have a problem with theft, so we wouldn't really keep our backpacks in our lockers but would carry them around and then throw them on the floor different places and just kind of leave them there. The one-strapping made it easier to just toss them down all the time, lol.

I was a switcher. Started with one strap, moved to two. Like @kiddosc: we wore them down over our butts LOL

I used a crossbody messenger bag. I switched to a back pack in college and I wore it double strap.
