I'm just entering the third tri and some of my summer tees are getting too small. And my nice maternity jeans are starting to feel really snug (oh crap). Last time I couldn't wear pants at the end but this time it's gonna be cold!!!

Some of my tanks are getting borderline too short and one pair of pants is getting tight through the hips. The good news for me at least is most of what I bought is stretchy so almost everything is doable.

Yup. Outgrew my maternity coat.
Sucked being pregnant in Canada in December with a coat that exposed my tummy.

My pants got really tight at the end. I bought a new pair at like 34 weeks, and went into labor a few days later! Such a waste

My shirts are starting to get too short and I can no longer wear demi panel. It cuts into my tummy.

Haha yup! I wore a lot of my husbands sweatshirts and and tshirt and then just sweats with drawstrings at the end.

Yup, my belly was starting to show and I kept having to tug my shirt and my jeans got really uncomfortable. I just lived with it because I didn't want to buy more. Last time I just lived in dresses and leggings!

I'm starting to wonder how long my shirts are going to fit. I don't think they're going to last 10 more weeks!

I think I need to invest in another pair of leggings...

@winniebee: i ordered 4 pairs from target yesterday. They were buy one get one 50% off! I plan on living in them this time!

I am outgrowing almost ALL of my clothes from last time (well, my butt is shrinking out of my pants but the belly panels are getting pretty short) but my belly is so much bigger than last time that I had to size up in shirts, and even those are getting too short

I'm having this problem right now! I seem to be bigger in the belly and carrying higher than last time and have bought several shirts in the third tri, which seems silly. My butt and thighs are bigger also but I think my pants will last through the end!

With Liam, I kept going up in pants throughout. I'm hoping that won't happen this time, but I'm sure I'll be in the same boat at the end.

I feel like I might need to size up in jeans but for 12 weeks or less?!? Seems so wasteful but now I wear jeans every day.

@winniebee: I cannot comfortably wear any of my nice maternity jeans
I have one pair of jeans that still fit and some work pants from my first pregnancy. And I just bought two pairs of leggings bc the leggings from my first pregnancy are all stretched out and faded.

Yep. I wore the same three outfits in the end because I had so few work clothes that fit/covered my belly. Next time, I'm buying maternity leggings the second the pee stick says positive. I bought a pair at 38 weeks and wondered why I waited so long.

Yep, one pair of jeans is getting snug and my shirts don't have long to go before they get too short. DH wears a men's size small so even his shirts and sweatshirts don't for me. I have a few pairs of yoga pants and a pair of maternity leggings that I LOVE! What to do about shirts though??
nectarine / 2220 posts
Only one shirt. I bought it at 17 weeks, and didn't expect it would last long though, since it barely seemed like a maternity top, but I really liked it and was going on vacation that I needed dressier tops for at 21 weeks. So, I wear it now (14 months pp) on a fairly regular basis.

Nope. I wished I hadn't bought so much maternity actually. But my SIL did and she told me her solution was to actually cut a horizontal slit in the middle of her Full-Panel pants!

I carried high for most of my pregnancy, so my shirts fit pretty well up until about 36 weeks when the baby dropped.
Now most of my maternity shirts expose the bottom of my belly- usually they are only showing part of the panel of my skirt or pants, but still- not the best look!
Thank god I'm working from home until my due date, I can walk around with teh belleh hanging out all I like! I'm 38 weeks now, so I'm just going to wait it out, it seems silly to buy anything new now!

A couple of the shirts I bought early on are getting a bit short already at 25 weeks - but I blame it on them being cheap Old Navy shirts and shrinking
And I already warned DH that I will be stealing all his comfy hoodies this winter

Yes, especially tops because I was huge, like smuggling a couple basketballs big. Towards the end I could only wear very stretchy cotton maternity shirts & a couple pairs of pants.

@winniebee: Ugh, I'm right there with you!! I only have demi-panel jeans (and a nicer pair with the panel on the sides), and I can't wear them anymore because they're just getting to be too uncomfortable. And some of the dresses I bought earlier on are not fitting as well now. I'm definitely going to have to buy some more things, which I'm annoyed about! I just got some maternity leggings, which I imagine I'll be living in for these last months. No idea what I'll be doing about a coat, though!

Yes. I bought a few new things around 36 weeks, but didn't deliver until 42. Towards the end, I wore a lot of long tank tops and DH's sweaters.

Two pairs of demi panels pants from old navy are really tight and uncomfortable. I'm 30 weeks. I'm going to pass them on to my cousin who is in the 2nd tri.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@magnolia: Those dang demi-panel!! They were amazing earlier on, and now I'm all 'why the hell didn't I get full panel?!'
persimmon / 1168 posts
@theotherstark: anything else I get will be 2nd hand. I dont want to waste $$ on things I might outgrow again!! My mom also bought me some things from zulily, which are cheap but functional.

I did notice a my maternity tshirts are tighter... I should've bought M instead of S!
persimmon / 1188 posts
I sure did! The jeans that looked amazing early on had no chance later on. Other things lasted longer but I was down to just a few things at the very end. I am petite and my belly was massive so I know I looked crazy, what can you do!
eggplant / 11287 posts
No, BUT I bought my maternity clothes a little big. I was always on cusp of a small and a medium, and I always bought a medium so that they were a bit big early on in my pregnancy, and still fit toward the very end. However, the last couple weeks of my pregnancy with M, I was PUSHING IT. My bump was HUGE! lol
honeydew / 7622 posts
@rainbow sprinkles that's my plan, glad to hear it worked for you. I got an item from GAP that is sized up and it seems huge but it is a cute sweatshirt for $20 so I ordered it in the smaller size and am hanging onto both. I'm sure I will thank myself later
pineapple / 12234 posts
Yes. My shirts wouldn't cover my bump! I have a long torso but still...it was so uncomfortable!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Pants stopped fitting at 7.5 months and my shirts were too short by the middle of the third tri too. I'm too tall. Many dresses were worn
