My boss just handed them out. I was not expecting it and was so grateful I started crying.
I've only been here 9 months and it's more than I ever got at my last job that I was at for almost 4 years!

Wow. I'm just happy to not be part of layoffs that may be coming.

@locavore_mama: That is awesome!!
And nope. We never get anything.

@T.H.O.U.: Yes, after being laid off in 10/12 then going through 2 temp jobs to here; I am especially grateful for a permanent job. And the bonus was an unexpected surprise!

Haven't heard yet...we usually hear about them on Christmas Eve.

@locavore_mama: that is so great!! what a surprise!

Not exactly, but we get quarterly bonuses based on our office performance. Our 4th quarter bonus is actually paid at the end of January.

At my last job I had a small Christmas bonus ($100?). DH gets a bonus, which depends on how well his company did in the past year. He gets it in January though.

Yay!
I did get one, but I don't get it until I go back to work after my mat leave. Boo. So, not until July 2014

I know my company is giving everyone a holiday bonus but I don't think I'll get one since I am currently on mat leave and not getting a paycheck.
clementine / 948 posts
Yes- normally it is like 3% of salary but this year was 10%! I was shocked and still wonder if it was a mistake! It was direct deposited while on mat leave

We get one in March if our company exceeds its sales expectations for the year. Every employee gets a certain number of days of pay. The longer you're here, the more you get. Last year, it was 3 weeks pay!

A $20 gift card to Walmart. It was pretty funny though, because the HR girl at the holiday luncheon made several comments a long the line of "we really appreciate you guys and want to show you how much!" At least it's something though, right? It will buy a box of diapers.

omg, yes and I was floored! We've never gotten more than $100, but this year I got a full paycheck amount.

I did with my previous company. Don't think I will be with this one. However, performance evaluations are happening right now so salary increases/bonuses are being assessed and will be paid out Feb 1. However, bonuses are only given to the top 1/3 percent of the company. Boo!

@locavore_mama: congrats!
We are fiscal year so we get out bonus in July. My hubby got an awesome bonus.

Wow, that's awesome! Congrats!
DH is getting his today. He told me that DS and I can go shopping tonight and out to eat while he's at his work party, so I'm guessing it's more than he expected lol.

Nothing for the staff this year, and this was after the partners received a *huge* bonus/raise earlier in the year (i'm talking 6 figures huge). Very disappointing.

No - I never do (I work for a governmental non-profit), but we do get a small gift for Christmas and a turkey for Thanksgiving!
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Yes 2 weeks ago we received a bous, it was a nice addition.

I got my first one today and I've been with this company for almost 8 years.

That's awesome! Congrats!!!
DH gets one. I did when I worked at a private school but not anymore.

Yes, sort of. I get a check every year in a Christmas card, so technically it is a holiday bonus. But its an anticipated/negotiated part of my employment (i.e. my offer letter specified part of my compensation comes from a once per year "bonus" that is 5-50% of my "base" salary, depending on how the firm is doing).

That's awesome! DH gets one and it is awesome because I forget every year that he is going to!

Yep, DH & I got ours last week. They're nothing incredible, but they are appreciated!

@locavore_mama: Awesome!!
And nope. We haven't gotten one for the past 4 or 5 years. Basically since the construction industry took a dump in Florida. But I don't expect it and it was nice while it lasted. I don't know many people who do get them anymore.

@lemondrop: ah-mazing!
@thismustbetheplace: that's messed up.
@MrsTiz: for some reason I thought you worked for family?

@locavore_mama: yay!! go you!
DH got one but unfortunately we'll only see a third of it (and that's before taxes, boo!).

Nope, never have at my current employer. In fact, we just got an email from our exec praising us on all our accomplishments this year and saying we should celebrate by helping those less fortunate and volunteering at a food bank one day next month. Now, I'm all for helping those that are less fortunate, but I'm guess a little insulted that she's trying to spin volunteering as a reward.

No. Neither of us do. His company used to do 10% of your salary to your 401k every year but they cut that out a few years ago.
