We are trying to set up our registry and feel like we are missing alot. As a FTM I am clueless! The one thing we decided not to register for, aside from clothes, is toys. We figures, like clothes, people will buy that regardless because it is cute or fun. I know I have in the past.
Did you register for toys? What else didn't you register for?

We did register for toys at the recommendation of a friend who didn't and didn't get any. We didn't register for the big furniture items.

I have no intention of registering for clothes, toys or books. I figure it's something that people would want to figure out on their own.

We didn't register for toys and have been given more than LO could ever play with! He is the first grandchild on both sides of our family, though, so that may have something to do with it.
ETA: just noticed the second question - we didn't register for books or large furniture items either, and only a few very basic clothing items. We bought the furniture ourselves but have received almost all of LO's clothes and books as gifts.

We didn't register for toys, nor do I ever buy them, other then for a plane ride because I wanted her to have new toys to keep her interested and entertained. And she has sooooooo many toys that are gifted and handed down to her. It's ridiculous.

We didn't register for toys. He didn't really start becoming interested in toys until he was almost 3 months old, so at that point we just picked up a few things. I did however receive a lot of books at my showers. We also didn't register for any clothes, but received plenty as gifts.

We didn't register for big toys but did some smaller stuff (teething toys, ect.) I registered for books solely so that way people could see which ones were already purchased to hopefully elminate a bunch of duplicates.

I only registered for a couple outfits and toys that I really loved and definitely wanted. I figured that way if someone really did want to get clothes or toys, they would at least get something I wanted?
I didn't register for any big items. My parents and DH's parents pretty much took care of all that stuff.
