No we didn't. I wanted the grandparents to see them in person first, not in a picture... And we didnt share pics from right when they came out either!

Yes we shared his first pic when they handed him to me. It's precious.

We circulated pics that were taken probably 20-30 minutes after each of the kids were born. They were adorable and not at all gross. Unless my friend was a celebrity I would find it a little strange to get a pic of a foot to announce a birth.

That brand new? Only to immediate family. Then we "publicly" shared photos of them after they were cleaned up.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: all babies are a little discolored when they are first born. They are very pruny and paler because they've been in amniotic fluid for 9 months. Both my girls were very pale white when they were born!

We sent a picture a couple hours after her birth announcing she was here and her name. She had her bath already.

We shared pictures from minutes after DS was born. He was born via csection though so he wasn't too scrunched and they wiped him off really well and put a hat on him right away.

We sent a photo taken within a few minutes of LO's birth to parents, siblings, people who are like family but the photo I posted on social media as the announcement to friends and family we are not as close to was taken later on in the day or the next day.

DD was handed to me straight away and covered in a thick layer of vernix (the midwife commented on the copious amount of it!). They wiped her a little but not fully till they took her for a weigh about half an hour later. The photo I sent to family was a nice clean and swaddled version a few hours later.

We sent a pic out with an email announcement right after she was born that was taken within the first half hour or so (she was wearing a hat by then but before they took her off for tests, etc), and later shared a few other pics. She looked sweet, not vernix-y!

I don't remember what we sent or to whom, but we took plenty, which I highly recommend even if you don't share them! Even though they aren't the cutest, they are some of my favorite pictures and bring back so many emotions when I look at them! I think fresh new babies are so beautiful though!

I would have if I had a pic. LO was called the poopiest (meconium) baby ever seen by a nurse. I couldn't adequately describe it to people. People being some of my mom friends and close women family. It wouldn't be the way I would introduce LO but I would share the pic.

My friend shared a pic of her baby all bruised from delivery. We've gone through two pregnancies together so we are all in on the details. To each her own.

We shared a picture of her when she was a couple hours old with close friends and family. She was cleaned up pretty quickly, even though we declined the hospital bath. Her face was a tiny bit scrunched, but her eyelids we're never translucent and her skin was actually rather red, she's much paler now. Besides, we wanted to share--she was the most beautiful thing in the world to us.

I can't even remember But for this next babe, I think we'll likely send one out to a couple of our very close friends, parents & siblings. I think theres something so special about seeing a fresh baby

I can't remember what I did for friends. I texted a bunch of people while I was drugged up in recovery without the babies for a couple hours, but I didn't have any photos. I actually found out that my parents were at the hospital because I texted my bro and he said he'd seen pics and they were beautiful. I was like wtf I haven't even seen them! Tell mom & dad to go back to the waiting room! (They were watching through the nursery Windows)

We've received pics of all our baby besties right away from friends though. I love the tiny, scrunchy faced, not yet washed photos that my friends have with their babes! I didn't get to hold my kids until they were a few hrs old so I'm jealous of those pictures!
