We shared A's name with everyone before she was born, but this time we aren't telling too many people. We have told my sister, BFF and of course Hellobee. We have had so many people nag us about what her name is going to be, but they will just have to wait. We got so many opinions on our name choice with A that we don't want to deal with that this time around.

@cmomma17: Same, although people only ask once or twice before figuring out we're not going to share. I just go with the "we're considering a few but we'll know her when we meet her" line and leave it at that.
We will know when we meet her…but we know now, too. LOL.

We did with DD but have been more secretive this time. Everyone loved DD's name but I guess because we are Team Green this time we have a bunch of ideas and people tend to give their opinion, where as with DD we were set and people knew we wouldn't change our mind.

No, it was a very closely guarded secret, along with her gender. It was literally the only name we agreed on so didn't want anyone making us doubt our choice.

There's nothing worse than someone saying "We know the name but we are keeping it a secret from you." If I were to keep the name a secret, I may just say that we have no clue what we will name the baby.

we didn't really because we weren't decided 100%, but some of my GFs knew our top 2 picks and her middle name just by me blabbing in the beginning of my pregnancy. other than that, no one knew!

We were team green. We told everyone our boy's pick but my family really ruined some names that I loved at first so I regret telling people our possibilities. We ended up with a girl and weren't set on a girl's name going into the hospital.

No, in part because we were TG but mostly because we didn't decide until he was born.

We didn't. We were 99% sure about the name, but I wanted to see DD before confirming it. I also suspected that if we told my MIL prior to DD's arrival, she would get a bunch of things monogrammed and then we'd end up going with a different name... And end up stuck with items with the wrong name on it!

Yes, we had a surprise name reveal at my baby shower. We originally were planning to keep it a secret til she was born but I have no self control. Everyone was shocked, though, and it was awesome!

I made it known early because there were 4 pregnancies in the family (cousins and SIL) and it was fun to share it early and go through the pregnancy together. It was nice having them call her name and talking to baby while she was in my womb.

Dh really wanted to keep it a secret so we did. It drive people crazy since we were also team green. But we also wanted to meet the baby before totally deciding. We even sent out a "it's a girl! Name tbd." When she was born. My dad said we were like the duke and duchess of Cambridge.

We shared as soon as we settled on a name. I don't worry about people taking it or their comments on it. We've gotten a few negative comments but I honestly don't care. I'm in love with his name! My mom originally begged me not to name him that but now she's all on board with it.

With DS we told everyone. We knew that was his name, wether people liked it or not(not that it would change even if they didn't like it). With DD only DH and I knew the 2 choices. We didn't want people to away us one way or the other so we didn't tell anyone. It drove them allllll soooooo craaazzzzyyy! I didn't understand why people cared that much haha

We shared our "final two" last time (although we'd actually already decided). This time I'm torn - we know two other people expecting baby girls about four weeks before ours, and I'm for some reason really worried about one of them using the name we've chosen, then having to decide whether to "copy" them or start over with something new. I don't really believe you can stake your claim on a name, so I'm concerned that sharing our top choices might serve as inspiration for these couples rather than a deterrent to them using the name.

We waited. We named him after his great grandpa and my dad. FIL texted my parents the name (we were waiting to Skype with them). Yeah... I didn't tell anyone the name for nine months. You think I wanted people to find second hand via text?
Guess who will know the name last this time!

We did and both my parents and the in-laws hated it! It's grown on the since but for the longest time they asked us to consider different names. It's definitely made me think twice about sharing if we do have another LO.

It's not like it was a big secret, I just have a thing about baby being referred to by their name before birth and figured if less people knew the name the less likely they would use it....actually DD is 4 weeks and I still only refer to her as "the baby" (I think DS was almost 1 before I started using his name).

We shared the two names we had in mind with our first, which was a big mistake. People were very opinionated and did not hold back. This time around I made sure to keep our options to ourselves. We didn't even make a decision until two days before he was born.

We were team green and announced a boy and girl name and then when we had DS we announced his arrival and gender... with no name. It was days later that we named him and we didn't use the name we had previously planned on! This time nobody is really asking, they probably don't trust us anymore lol.
