I was at the hospital Tuesday-Saturday night and I showered once after giving birth. DH showered every night!

We were there less than 48 hours so neither one of us did.

Yup. I showered the day after A was born. It felt so nice to be clean!

I showered once or twice during my induction and then twice after my c-section. My husband showered 2 or 3 times. I felt so much better after showering! Even though you know the hospital is clean it makes you feel grimy!

No...I was so desperate to get out of the hospital I told them I'd shower at my mom's...and I did. I just wanted to get out of there.

Yep! I have birth Monday afternoon and waited till Tuesday morning, cause all I wanted to do that night was sleep. I felt so much better after showering.

I never felt up to it. It felt like such a hassle and I was in so much pain. I was there for less than two days and showered as soon as I got home.

Nope. I was there for 3 days and didn't shower.

I showered the day we left, two days after she was born. I wanted to shower before then, but I was lost a lot of blood and couldn't really stand without passing out until after my blood transfusion, which they didn't do until the last night.

I'll shower later today but DH just left to go home and shower and feed the cats.

We only stayed 2 nights, and I showered both mornings. I felt disgusting!

Yes, I showered the next evening after she was born when all of our visitors were gone. DH wanted me to try showering since I had passed out the first time I stood up to go to the bathroom.

I did both times I've given birth. It made me feel more normal and more like myself faster, which really helped my mood.

Yes. I was in Sat-Tues and showered during L&D and sometime Sunday after DS was born....I actually think I showered everyday I was there except Tues when we were discharged. Oh I also had a bath soak after delivery recommended by my OB/GYN so I guess that counts too
ETA: DH went home each day to shower. I don't think he would ever shower in the hospital.

Yep. I showered once during my induction and every morning for the three days we were there. I blow dried my hair and put blush and mascara on. I needed to feel human!

Yes, the morning after she was born I showered and I'm SOOO glad I did. Best shower ever, and I needed it BAD!

Yea, I showered twice when we were there. Dh only once.

We have private bathrooms at our birth center with jet tubs and these beautiful, steam showers - unless I'm truly incapable, I'm showering/bathing as much as I can manage.

Definitely multiple times. We were there fri-mon and it helped me feel a zillion times better. I had to take 3 baths a day in the awesome tub to help heal also.

Yes, about 12 hours after labor, it was my best shower ever! I've had some big contenders for best shower- outdoors in Fiji during our honeymoon, but this ghetto hospital shower was A-mazing!

Nope. I was there 5 days but was really sick after giving birth, IV'd and on monitors for days after. As soon as I could go home, I took off!
DH didn't stay at the hospital, we live within walking distance.

Yes! I stayed in the hospital for one night after giving birth, and I showered twice! The first shower was one of the best I've ever had.

I took 2 showers! I sweated a lot during L&D and stunk.

Once. I was there Sunday through Friday. Twice if you count labouring in the tub as a bath -I don't. I was DYING to shower but was too weak after my c-section and they wanted me to wait a day for the incision. I have almost no photos from our hospital stay because my hair was so gross I wouldn't let any one take any!

Once, right before we left. I passed out everytime I stood up, and had to sort of sit in the shower, but I did it. I spent the majority of my labor in the tub though.

The hospital I'm delivering at encourages showers for pain relief during labor, so I'll be packing my shower shoes!

Um, no. It was a struggle to get out of bed to pee and I got horribly dizzy whenever I stood up so DH or a nurse would have had to have helped me shower so I just didn't. I was admitted Tuesday night and I showered when we got home Friday afternoon. Best shower of my life.
DH showered once there and said the water pressure was awful

For my first birth at the birth center I took a bath with lo right after she was born. After my second birth (c/s at the hospital) I took a shower after two days when the nurse finally got around to it... I kept asking because I felt nasty but she just kept putting it off.

we stayed 1.5 nights and i didnt shower. neither did dh. maybe i should've? i think i was too scared!

DH and I both showered the day after once we found out we ha to stay another day because DD has jaundice and needed to be under the bili lights. Helped me feel normal!

no--i was there about 48 hours, and the shower in my hospital room looked kind of gross.

I showered because I couldn't handle feeling all gross. My DH was surprised that I lasted until Saturday afternoon. ( I had N on late Friday night. )

I don't feel like me without least at little makeup on. I showered the day he was born, and every day until we left. I haven't missed a shower since he was born!
