What the question says...
DH just contacted his benefits department. He started there in June and works for the parent company of a huge HR/benefits company. He was told that he has to be an employee for one year to qualify for the 3 weeks of paid leave. I was shocked by this. He works in the NJ office for his company and I was fairly certain they (NJ) have mandatory paternity leave? I've never heard of a waiting period for dads.
I looked into NJ's benefits. If he were to qualify, it's a capped $600 per week (or 2/3 of salary) which is not much at all. Oh well, we'll manage!
