Nope! I tried to mindful of it and spent wayyy less than I did the last few months of 2013!

Trying to get back on track in February. Only necessary items. Hopefully I have everything I need for pre-party prep crafts.

Yes but it was because it was Chinese new year so I handed out a Crap load of red envelopes.

No, we were pretty careful about spending since we had Christmas and birthdays to pay for. My husband owes me a new fridge, but I didn't push it in January so he would feel like we recovered financially a little- we actually came out a little ahead, but that is counting fridge money. I AM getting that new fridge this month though. I'm a tiny bit obsessed about getting rid of that beast in my kitchen.

eh... we did okay, not great. So far, we are doing much better this month!

I returned a bunch of clothes that I really didn't need and didn't like, that was a great feeling. But then I went and spent money on new boots.
We're also redoing our laundry room, which we didn't really plan, but my husband kind of got fed up with the state of it.

I did buy some stuff but I don't think I overspent. I've also been waiting for my last Christmas cc statement that finally came last week so I'm glad to be getting that paid off and not lurking anymore.

Yes, on groceries/food. Partially because we went on vacation and groceries were much more expensive there, and partially because we hosted a dinner at our house and spent a lot of extra funds on that. Boo.

I think we did ok. We did buy baby E some stuff but we got it all used and all under $250 for a crib, dresser, rocker and double stroller. We knew we were going to buy that stuff in January though. Other than that we did pretty well.

I spent too much in December (NYC trip, eating out for NYE, Christmas) and then January's bills were ridiculous soooo in January I actually didn't spend all that much.

YES. we spent way too much on groceries and eating out. clearly we are a food loving family. We also had some unexpected expenses come up. I was going to use that 3rd/extra paycheck this month (I was so happy it was one of those extra paycheck months!) to put into savings, but we couldn't because of the overspending. We're trying to be extra vigilant this month!

At first, I said, no, but we did move into a house and so we did spent a lot on furniture, moving, security deposit on house and some other things.
I did cut down on the necessary spending like shopping for myself. We did however spend almost everyday last week eating takeout because we were moving.

We had two weddings and a few belated Christmas presents, but other than that we did far better than the end of last year.

Yeah
we booked a vacation that frankly we have no business taking, but we really need, our kitty has been crazy $$, our cars were both due for inspection, mr. Bird's car needed fixing, our car ins payments started back up (we pay 10 payments each year & I have it so we get a break from then during the holidays) which I forgot about, our utilities went through the roof & for some reason we had two electric meter reads. We also had a lot of things come up schedule wise that threw off our meal planning & we ordered out/threw away more food than I'd like to admit

We finally received the hospital bills for what was left after insurance for DD's birth, so those were paid. Minus the medical bills, January was pretty decent.

No, I made no clothing purchases (huge for me) or any household purchases.

We had a super bowl party, so we spent a ton. We also got a bunch of furniture.

We actually came out ahead but that was with very close budgeting and a few things we planned to spend $ on being cancelled due to weather.

We did OK. We spent a bunch, but almost all of it was planned spending. We're still going to try to take it easy in February, though.
