It just seems weird to me that my baby goes from being a baby to a toddler at age 1....maybe it seems too soon? Did you start calling your baby a toddler at age 1?

No. Yesterday, when P decided that standing beside the couch to nurse was the best position, was the first time I've felt like she was a "toddler". I think that once she's walking I'll accept her as being a toddler.

My DD is 2 and I still call her a baby. I guess she'll transition to toddler once the new LO is born this summer.

I started to call my LO a toddler after he turned one. He started to walk, which then progressed to running. His vocabulary was expanding, and he became much more independent. Of course he will always be my baby, but I refer to him as a toddler.

We started about 10 months because that's when she started walking. She definitely didn't look like a baby any more when she was running around.

I did because he started walking and talking when he hit 12 months. It makes me sad!

I didn't call DD a toddler until around 18m, until then she was my baby (which I still call her every now and then)

he'll always be my baby :o) but maybe because he's walking(well basically running) and has been 2 months prior to turn one, I think of him more as a toddler. but since he turned one(a whole week ago! haha) I still, mainly, refer to him as a baby, or 'the baby'. once DD is here(less than 3 months) he'll probably then really be a toddler :o)

Even though H is 15 months and has been walking for 6 months, and even though he has a younger sibling and I call him a toddler, he's still my baby. One he starts talking back, he'll be a toddler!
