Piano and violin. I was forced to take piano but violin was my choice. I eventually learned to love it but there were years where I wanted to quit and both my mom and I were very frustrated with each other!

I started violin in 2nd grade and played until college, like 13 years. I had the opportunity to play at Powell Symphony Hall here in St Louis when I was a senior in high school, and it was an amazing experience. I sing too, and do musical theatre. DH plays a bunch of different things, but he comes from a long line of musicians.

C will totally be playing an instrument. We'll probably start her on piano in a couple years when she's old enough to take lessons and then let her pick what she wants to do once she gets to school age. DH feels like piano is a pretty essential instrument for anyone who is a musician, so he's insistent that she learn to play it.

I started piano lessons when I was 15. It was the most terrible decision I'd ever made. haha Don't get me wrong, I love the piano and still wish I could play it, but 15 was just a bad time for me to start something like that.

Flute, guitar, and violin. LOVED playing all of them! I also sang in choir. I got too busy with various dance lessons and stopped. I'll definitely support my kids in music, dance, or both.

i played the drums. i would like any future children to learn an instrument, they don't have to stick with it forever, but should be competent

My parents rule was that we had to pick an instrument in elementary school and stick with it until we graduated high school. We were required to join orchestra or band and take private lessons.

I chose violin along with a few of my best friends, and while there was a time period in middle school I wanted to quit and resented having to study and take lessons, I am so glad they made us stick with it. It paid for a lot during college when I played with a quartet in weddings, and I am part of a local string orchestra now and love it.

My kid(s) will definitely be playing an instrument! It opened up a lot of doors and experiences for me that I want them to have also.

I never learned to play an instrument, and I regret it now. I would love to be able to play the piano or the guitar!

Violin, and I still play in an orchestra today. My mom wanted me to take piano lessons too but
I didn't want to and kind of regret it. I'd love M to learn an instrument but won't force it on her.

I was in concert band and marching band in middle and high school. I played French horn, mellophone, and flute.
