@Crumbs: same here, I didn't care and just wanted him out!
Second degree btw, it got better after a few weeks. Buy the expensive toilet paper for a while. Ice packs and sitz baths were very helpful.
@FutureMrsMcK: I absolutely agree, once I healed, all things were better down there! Way better!

I never understood the diff between second and third degree tears-- babycenter cleared that right up. -

2nd degree tear, but I don't know how many stitches. It seemed to take a while for everything to get sewn up down there...

I had an episiotomy, and a little tearing on top of that.
