I was able to test drive our Chicco stroller frame and Bob but I wasn't able to test out our Uppababy G-luxe.
I will probably buy a double stroller online based on reviews and hope for the best.

The one stroller I didn't test drive turned out to be the one I hated with the passion of 1000 burning suns.

I did go stroller test-driving for our UppaBaby Cruz, but we are thinking of getting an umbrella stroller eventually and would trust reviews from our friends. I will say it was a fun way to spend the afternoon!

Yes I definitely test drove before buying! I'm stroller obsessed though. But especially for a double... I took the longest time to decide and once I did, I was sooo glad I waited. #2 was already almost 1 year old, but it was worth waiting since she was so little the first year anyway and we babywore a lot. I don't know... I just didn't want to be unhappy with such a big stroller like a double and I hate online returns.
i think you could definitely wait it out if you wanted... or check out some local baby stores that have more brands than BRU. I'm sure they're out there.

@SAHM0811: I want to go to the store you recommended in K-town but I don't know when I'll be out there. DH is going to take a one month leave so I won't need a double yet...but LO will only attend daycare part time this summer so I probably need it then!

@autumnlove: maybe try some independent retailers? i always see these little local baby shops in the 'burbs and they have more stroller brands. but yeah, if you're fine with online returns, i guess it's not a big deal. i hate them though, even for little things!

Sort of - A friend had her Bob with her one time and told me to try it out. I fell in love and got one too!

I had pretty much decided before I went to the store, based on reviews from people I knew and just reading the specs online, but I needed to test drive them and compare before I spent a lot of money on a stroller. I'm getting an UB Vista, but wanted to make sure I really did like it that much better than a City Mini or the UB Cruz. But I have had multiple occasions when I could test them out since all the big baby stores and the boutique ones have them.

No, even though it's recommended. I was confident in our choice (the city mini).

Yup! The hubby and I went to BuyBuyBaby a few times to test drive various strollers and see how each one folded up, etc.

Yep, I only have one that I want so I didn't have to hunt down a ton of them. I went to BRU and as soon as I saw it in person I loved it, and it drove like a dream.

No. I probably could have but didn't even think about it. It was recommended by a mommy friend so I trusted her.

My husband and I went a few weeks ago and pushed them around, played with all the features, opened and closed them, and tested the stability. I just went back today to push our two favorites around the store and I plan on going back in a couple days to take the one I like the most out for a test drive in the parking lot and hopefully try to put it in and take it out of my car.

Oh yeah-- the folding was a good one to test too. I am less worried about it getting in and out of my car, since I walk 95% of the time, but being able to fold it easily is still key.
