We never had a boy so we never used two of my favorite names...Benjamin & Ian. I had those names on my "list" when I was younger and DH was ok with them!
My girls have first names that we selected after we found out the sex. DH hates all of the unisex names for girls that I liked when I was younger.

Great choices! Those are my brother's name and my husband's name.
My favorite name growing up was Caleb, but now my last name starts with a B, so it runs together too much. DS has a similar name, though.
For a girl, we had always thought we would use Sophie, but now Sophia is SO POPULAR that I think we'll find another name if we have a girl.

I've liked Gideon for as long as I can remember. My choices for girl names have shifted, so I can't say I'd use any of the names I liked as a teen.

Liliana went on my list a long time ago. I got lucky that DH loved it!
When I was much younger (13?) I liked Anakin, but then Episode I came out so all the non-super nerds found out that was Vader's name. I still like Luke and Leia. DH vetoed them, not because he doesn't like them, but because one of the partners at his company has twins named that!

I didn't use any of my longtime favorites..
For girls, my longtime favorite was always Vivian - since I was a little girl. I still love it, but when I got pregnant it was love at first sight/sound with DD's name. If we ever have another girl, Vivian would still make my shortlist!
For boys, Joshua, Jonathan, and David were my long-time favorites. I lost interest in the name Jonathan when I got older, and although Joshua is still a favorite, we know so many... I would still consider it if we ever have another boy though! I love the way Joshua rolls off the tongue. As for David, we ended up using it as a middle name.

I liked the name Tianna for a girl for years, but then hubby wanted more tradtional names. So our DD is Helen.
