My parents didn't buy a TV until we moved into our house when I was 2.5. They let me watch Romper Room, Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood and Sesame Street a couple times a week!

We watched PBS in the afternoons. I remember watching Arthur, Zoom, Magic Schoolbus, and Clifford.

Yeah I watched a lot of Disney movies and then whatever shows were on during the day.

TV pretty much raised me as a child. My parents were busy working at the restaurant downstairs, and I was upstairs watching television. I learned how to speak Cantonese and English from watching TV. I loved PBS the most, and I still love it today.

I don't think so. I definitely watched cartoons on the weekend though! We didn't have TV other than movies from the time I was 9-13, and then we only had a few channels .

Yes, a lot. I had a tv in my room. But I was also a competitive swimmer and had workouts twice a day, so it's not like I was a couch potato.

My parents were really strict with how much we watched, but not strict with what we watched. My favorite show as a 9 year old was the Real World Seattle O.o

No, my parents were pretty strict about how much and what we watched. I did get to go on Romper Room though. My fifteen minutes of fame happened at age 4!

We barely watched any. They were pretty strict about it...I don't feel like I missed out. Plus, I feel like I've watched enough trash in my adult life to make up for it.

No, I was always outside playing. My parents limited our TV time.

I watched quite a bit but I also played outside way more than it seems kids do these days!
Now I sound like a crotchety old woman...

Tons, my family was really physically inactive. I enjoy it as an adult, but as a part of a finely tuned balance of active and passive recreation.

A ton! My parents worked a lot and left me home alone after school with no sitter.

Tons. My mom was even telling me that when I was 4 or 5 I would sit and watch ET and the Sound of music back to back all day for like 8 hours and I never wanted to be interrupted. I'd barely even eat! Yikes! Lol

We didn't have tv for a long time, so no! Once we did get it we really only watched Saturday morning cartoons. Certain shows were restricted, even as I was older. We were outside all the time. To this day I barely watch tv.
EDIT: I want to raise our son the same, not a ton of tv. It's hard for DH and I on this topic as we were raised completely opposite.

Not really. We lived in the mountains and only had an antenna, so we got about 15 stations... I watched some Romper Room, Sesame Street, Mr. Rodgers, 3-2-1 Contact, Reading Rainbow, etc. Mostly I played outside though. We had a few acres.
