I'm really disgusted by their speech. They really dont seem to get it or care at all.

@ladyfingers: Very impractical
@Bao: They basically blamed video games and said the solution is more guns in schools with armed guards
Theres a tweet about it t hats kinda funny (not haha funny) by @Symbolman "NRA wants to create an early Warning system in schools. When you hear a blaze of gunfire that's the armed guard being killed, first. "

yeah; arming the people whose unions you are in favor of busting (which would take away lots of those people's rights) is a brilliant idea.
If only every single person carried a loaded weapon at all times there would be much less violence. Just like in the "wild, wild west". Oh, wait...

i watched it - crazy that the two protesters managed to get some good screen time!
i don't think putting guns in schools, even though they're with police officers, is the solution.

@Mrsbells: it's true! that's what I was thinking. placing 1 police officer is not the solution, they're putting more guns out there.

The NRA's response really angers me. Who's supposed to pay for these guards? Also, there is NOTHING to support that more guns mean less crime or preventing a violent act. http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/12/21/the-more-guns-argument/?ref=opinion
The NRA's "2nd amendment act" defense is just BS, as its actions only indicate that they care about supporting the gun industry.

Some of you might find this interesting -- I did! It basically lists a few examples that people often give for the whole "we should arm everyone!" idea and says why they aren't actually good examples.
"Gun rights die-hards frequently credit the end of a rampage at the law school in 2002 to armed "students" who intervened. They conveniently ignore that those students also happened to be current and former law enforcement officers, and that the killer, according to police investigators, was out of ammunition by the time they got to him."

Yeah the whole thing just disgusts me. I really thought they would suggest a better solution atleast with regard to assault rifles

I'm absolutely disgusted, but then again I don't expect to feel otherwise when it comes to the NRA.
