Hey ladies!
Did you work right up to the point of having the baby? Or did you take a bit of time off? How did you organize your maternity leave?
Did it end up working out as planned?

My water broke on a Sunday at 39 weeks. I had worked the previous Friday and had been planning on coming in on Monday.
My plan was to work from home starting at 40 weeks if LO hadn't arrived by then (my boss was ok with that). I wanted to save up my leave for after LO arrived so I didn't really want to take time off before then.

I took 3.5 weeks off before my due date because 1) it was the holidays and my office was already closing for a week 2) after that was slow season and I would have just been sitting around bored 3) I'm in CA so we get disability 4 weeks before due date.

I worked until I was put on bedrest at 38weeks5days. I was induced 2 days later!

My state has pregnancy disability leave, which usually starts four weeks before your due date if you want to take full advantage. If not for that, I'd probably try to work from home from like 36 weeks on (I have a looooooong commute).

I voted a few extra days off because that was my plan, but LO actually surprised us 5 weeks early so I did work up until the day he was born.

I so wish I worked in a state that offered those extra benefits.
Do you think for mental and possibly physical health of a mama that those weeks that other states provide are really beneficial?

I went into work on Monday, worked a full day, went into labor that night, and had LO on Tuesday morning. When I called my boss the morning I delivered, he said when I didn't come in by 11am, he figured I had LO. DH didn't let me call my boss while in labor like I wanted to.

My plan was to go out at 38 weeks and have a couple weeks to relax and finish up getting everything ready. My dr ended up pulling me out at 36 weeks due to high blood pressure. I had the baby a week and a half later so I was really happy my dr pulled me out early, otherwise I wouldn't have had any time off before he got here.

My due date was January 7th, I worked most of that day from home and then went to my OB appt. where they decided to induce me. I was to report to the hospital at 9:30 the next night so I took PTO on the 8th. I went in to start my induction and she was born the afternoon of the 9th. Any leave prior to delivery must be taken as PTO and I wanted to save PTO to have some pay during my maternity leave.

The only person who stopped working before going into labor at my office was the woman who quit to become a SAHM. Everyone else who has had a baby has worked up until the last minute, even if it meant going straight from the office to the hospital.
I'm planning to work right up until labor, but there's enough flexibility that if I really don't feel able to go in towards the end I can work from home.

I had a scheduled c-section and worked the day before. I wasn't a big deal, honestly. I was really swollen the last few weeks, but it would have been boring to stay home for no good reason. I don't regret working until delivery.

My due date was on a Wednesday and I was planning on working till the Friday following it. But instead went into labor at night on my due date.

My due date is January 3rd (this Saturday), and today is my last day of work. We have tomorrow and Friday off for New Years anyways. So yeah, working right up until the end.

I worked till the last day, but Hurricane Sandy came through two weeks before my due date, and transportation was a mess. So I finally got up the courage to ask my boss to let me work from home for two weeks straight. It worked out great, because I was starting to have trouble with subway stairs and the extra time at home was a big deal. And DS kindly waited until I finished a particularly horrible report and turned over all my duties, before making his appearance

I voted "other". I had planned to work up until I went into labor to maximize my time off with LO, but my doctor pulled me from working at 38 weeks due to BP and swelling. Those 2 weeks before LO came were so freaking boring and a waste, since it wasn't like I could really get out and enjoy things. At least when I was working, my mind was off how uncomfortable I was!!!

I ended up getting a doctor's note to start my FMLA leave at 36 weeks. It meant going back to work sooner after LO was born, but my job required being on my feet for my entire shift and a moderate amount of lifting - I just couldn't handle it that last month.

Until the day she was born with #2.
With #1 I was on modified bed rest starting at 20 weeks.

Unless things go south, I'll be trying to work right up until labor. Not really what I want to do, but our finances will be better off if I stick to that plan.

I worked until Friday and she was born on Monday. I didn't plan to take any time off - anything I took off before she was born came out of my maternity leave.

i worked up until the day LO was born. i work for the fed govt and we don't get maternity leave--we have to use our own sick and annual leave, so leave is precious. also i was feeling okay enough to commute and go to work. might have been different if i had been feeling very uncomfortable.

I plan on working right until the end. But who knows, plans always seem to change!

I was due on a Monday but just knew he was coming late (not dilated/just didn't feel like labor was coming). I was scheduled to be induced the following Monday at 41 weeks so I worked till the Wednesday before - so 2 days past my due date. Everyone thought I was crazy and I think they were right! I think I will stop earlier next time around.

I planned to work the whole time then went into labor at 23 weeks and was on hospital bed rest until birth at 25 weeks 3 days. All in all I was out 7 months when I planned on 9 weeks. Best laid plans...

My company policy was to go out two weeks before your due date, so that's what I did. It didn't actually come out of my leave at the end, either- the 6 or 8 weeks paid Dtd started with the birth, not the first day out. It was really really nice to have an end date, rather than never knowing if I was coming in tomorrow, not to mention having time off to rest and prepare. If it meant two weeks less with my infant I wouldn't have done it, but since it was company policy, and I knee I would sah anyway, it was very nice.

I had lunch packed for work on Monday when my water broke Sunday night.

I took off two weeks before my EDD. I thought it was good for me and my employer. I was able to wrap up projects and have a smooth transition. Coworkers had two weeks to call with any questions. I had time to focus on motherhood and baby. I live in CA though. I don't know that I would trade baby time.

My due date was a Sunday, which was when my mat leave officially started. I went into labour on the Monday. With my first pregnancy, I took a week off before my due date but was 1 week late.

Worked a full day then I went into labor at 10 pm at 40w6d. But I wfh the last 3 weeks.

I was due early October, finished early September and delivered mid-October. I had plenty of paid leave to use and was starting to experience complications so it was good timing for my family.

I planned to work until I went into labor. Made it to 40+5 and lost my job that night, which was a Friday. Ended up getting induced on Monday morning for high bp so in the end I worked as long as I could've regardless.

I voted "other"....went into pre-term labor at 30 weeks, had her at 30w5d.

I was on bedrest from 35 weeks with each pregnancy. Induced at 36 weeks for DD and 39 weeks for DS.

I took a few days off but only because I was due the Saturday after thanksgiving. So my last day was the wednesday before thanksgiving. I ended up having to be induced the next week and that time counted against my leave so in retrospect I should have been induced sooner, but it all worked out.
